I have retainers entirely dedicated to storing different gear sets that I can't put in the wardrobe, but want to keep for varying purposes (like glamor or leveling).

I currently have four retainers, three of which are entirely full (two are exclusively for gear) and the fourth of which is rapidly approaching that state. I would love more Armory space.

We can put anything in the glamour dresser, but only specific items in the armoire. For example, we can only put our artifact armor sets in if we don't upgrade them first. I think this should be changed so all forms of all artifact armor sets should go into the armoire so we aren't taking 350 or so slots in the glamour dresser just for those because they can't go into the armoire if we can dye them.

I'm also still waiting for Eureka weapon replicas, but I feel that's a bit more understandable to wait for compared to something that's been in the game since 2.0.

I would be really glad to see more slots added to the armory tabs. Especially rings - since you're dealing with essentially twice the number compared to the others.

With the addition of classes/jobs over the years, it feels like it's time for the devs to give us a little armory love.

I also use retainers for armory spillover, and am pretty maxed out on space - currently have 7 retainers hired. My jobs are not at cap - they are spread out over a pretty large range. I think that is when people get into storage troubles.

I am presently working to bring all of my jobs to cap, or at least within 10 levels of it, but I still think I will be wishing for more slots. And not all players are going to have everything at cap, sharing some of the same gear, etc.

(And I am thinking of battle classes - with crafting/gathering classes sharing the same armory, it gets full quickly! I am working on leveling those as well, so storage is definitely a challenge.)

If you're carrying extra, whether for glamour, spares for later levels in jobs you're still working on, or whatever other reason, it's not enough.

Rings are almost as bad. We have seven different roles (tank, healer, strength DPS, dexterity DPS, caster, crafter, gather), each needing two rings. Plus blue mage, being locked at 50, takes another pair. And, again, if they're at different levels, that takes up more slots, since they're not sharing if they're not close.

Left-side slots are tight right now, with people just hitting 80 on multiple jobs and still carrying relic gear, which also isn't shared between jobs, but that'll even out as gear progresses.
This here is why a few more armory slots would go a long way. It just sucks having to either mass level similar jobs together or clear out space super frequently. As inventory will always be at a premium, and it just sucks when have pause at odd times to sort through and toss stuff thanks to limited space that is getting fuller by the day thanks to expanding job lists and such.

This is absolutly awful. Also I think all of those level 50/60/70/80 class sets should be able to be added to the armoire whether they are relic or not.

No amount of Armory chest or glamour dresser size will be enough, they got to implement a system as in WoW, GW2, ESO...
In WoW, my Mage character currently has a spot for only 7297 items in the appearances collection (not counting Legion artifacts). If the numbers you state for FFXIV are true, I'm not sure if WoW's system would serve FFXIV better for long, especially as WoW does not have dye option as far as I'm aware. I'm not sure about GW2 and ESO if maybe theirs are better.

An increase in inventory size does nothing but temporarily alleviate the hoarding issue most players have.
Get every DOM/DOW and DOH/DOL class to 70+ and you can't say that. To change all roles effectively you need more space

wow's system isn't exactly great. as you stated there are no dyes, and i'm not even sure what percentage of the appearances are just recolors of the same models. if i remember correctly it also excludes anything below green items and whatever items the devs decided weren't appropriate for glam. My top hat, monocle and frying pan were a few I distinctly remember not working. GW2 is superior in most respects. you just unlock any item you get and the dye system just pops in there if you have the dyes.

Yeah, that seems better. What about in terms of numbers? Do you know how many items GW2 can hold for one character?
