Yeah I lost all hype for 5.3 after reading the prelim notes. Very disappointing![]()
You can't blame her for that response. Even after we submitted a question directly to the SFX changes, they still ignored it and pushed it away without any real answer. "They" is more than Soken, it's their whole sound development team or hell how about the team that just goes through the forums every other weekend to see wtf the community is talking about? No responses, no replies, no care. They really don't considering this has been ongoing for a year now but hey, 3 weeks into a new expansion, DROP EVERYTHING apparently because of 1-2 small short-lived threads?.... Sure, ok.Gonna stop you right there my dude and take your tantrum throwing self over to any Live Letter where Yoshi P is actively monitoring the chat, or the Eureka thread where feedback was SO negative, he responded on in said thread.
Also, the biggest "they" here is Soken, for lead sound design. Know who the manager is before acting like a Karen.
Nope.
So, I guess it's just another patch without effort again.... It is definitely looking like we very well may have to wait until next expansion, I still refuse to give up regardless. They just plain sound bad, there's nothing even complicated or more to it... The fact people make memes saying you need to have a mod installed to play the job only carries the idea further that the SFX changes weren't in everyone's best interest.
Wow, it has been a year now since 5.0 released! It's kinda weird how in 2 weeks with only a few people complaining about the SFX they can change them in a heartbeat but here we are after 1 year and nothing has changed after majority supporting the rolling back of SFX to the previous one. Likewise most of the JP community supports the previous SFX too.
Its not looking good, but we have to keep pressure. Especially because a lot of people joined after 5.01, so they assume GNB was always a club wielder, so they maybe are not nearly as annoyed as we are.
Remember about weekly in-game suggestions. I'm sure GMs have to view them and pass to dev team, so even if they keep ignoring us, we at least send the message.

Super minor information and tidbits from Patch Notes reading
[omissions due to relevance]
Job balance wise
- There will be no more Tank firepower adjustments throughout the remainder of 5.x
- Monk revamps are slated for Patch 5.4, as stated before.
- Other jobs that didn't receive any changes in Patch 5.3 are currently monitored.
my take? They're done touching tanks. See y'all in 6.0 and all the mess that'll bring.
That doesn't necessarily mean they haven't been working on or won't address the SFX issue, just means tank damage is likely fine.... which it is.Final Fantasy XIV #translations-and-liveletters

Firepower doesnt mean sfx that's all.
Yep. I would be willing to bet that they aren't doing anything, but it's still possible that they could revert it at some point. They might also do it without saying anything and tuck it under the many issues they address (some of which simply aren't mentioned by default). Hard to say really, but I know where I'd put my money.
True.
The skeptic in me however is leaning towards "unless players find a new bug or exploit in tanks we're done touching them. 6.0 stuff now."
