The only people who know why the change occurred is SE. Given how many little requests get ignored, do you honestly think a forum thread that didn't reach two pages of length caused a change?
Pretty sure it's that coupled with the small spike on the JP thread as well. So... yes. They've overacted at "fixing" things the community openly hates at first before, but only when ts convenient for them to fix. SFX changes being relatively easy, I can see why they jumped on that while BLU on the other hand still gets mass complaints and well.... that one just ain't able to happen at this point.
At this point, the complaints about the old sfx is that while the recordings were good, the impact was lighter than people hoped, while with the new ones, the impact is there, but the sound is all wrong, sounding more akin to a blunt object than a blade, the explosions sounding like cannon blasts rather than explosions caused by the sword, as well as causing sound dissonance (the difference between the auto attack sounds and the solid barrel combo sounds is honestly jarring)
While I have gotten used to the new sounds and think they sound better with the Treble boost, I still can't say I like them at all and I would love to hear how the old ones sound when boosted as well, I sadly can't see them changing anything, at this point, GNB has been with the new sfx for far longer than the old ones, I could even see players who started with the new sfx being annoyed about it changing, can't please everyone, but I wish they stuck with the old sounds and just adjusted them slightly, not replace them entirely.
Keep in mind, what's the EU/JP side's reaction? Last I checked, which was months ago, there was a sizeable enough portion of the players saying "revert the changes please / solid barrel combo needs reverted but keep the rest."
I am a Japanese gunbreaker player and want to return to the old SE. In the Japanese thread, I received an official comment from the producer letter live, and raised an issue on the forum so that the discussion could proceed again. Mr. Yoshida and Mr. Soken commented that they wanted to hear the voices of the users and were trying them out, and I felt that we, who were dissatisfied with the current SE, had to speak up.
(1) I want you to return to the old SE.
(2) The current SE can be used.
(3) A more suitable new SE should be created.

That looks so good and I'm glad you're raising the awareness. Personally I'd prefer an entirely new set that doesn't sound blunt or like it's too thin or lack of explosions.... But if we're only given the choice between the two? The former were MUCH better sounding in my opinion.I am a Japanese gunbreaker player and want to return to the old SE. Considering the fact that they probably lack funding i would say just revert the changes. It was fine before. That looks so good and I'm glad you're raising the awareness. And one thing to these who want to give up - during first LL Yoshi P didn't even mention the problem, even though GNB posts were the most liked questions. During 2nd LL he said that he gets a lot of complaints but also a lot of people like new sfx (which is a lie because big majority prefers original sfx, or hates both, but certainly not prefers new sounds). So if we keep up the pressure we should be able to bring back GNB to it's former glory. He probably assumed that we will get bored so no reason to fix it, but he underestimates how big issue is.
For me i would go for (3) IF and ONLY IF they take the term gun"BLADE" to design the new sound effects and not gun"CARDBOARD". If that is not feasible then (1) would do.
わたしてきにはできれば新しいのSEを作って欲しいですがただし、ガンブレイドはブレイドみたいなSEならです。できないの場合は戻してほしいです。

4.0 wasnt that long ago. Did he already forget DRK's complaining all of Stormblood, or was "DRK WORLD FIRST BOTH ULTIMATES THO!!" overshadow those?Considering the fact that they probably lack funding i would say just revert the changes. It was fine before.
