I, too, would like to reinstate my vote for a reversal/readjustment of the current GNB sounds. While I still play the job, the original sounds were one of the job aspects that I admired the most, and I still feel disappointment when I compare them.

Could there be any chance of a change tonight, or is this just a patch to enable the Ishgard Restoration?
#fixGNBsfx is slowly gaining new users. I suggest joining there. Let's show them that ignoring the issues is not solving them.
Not gonna lie, was out of town for a week and really hoped the sounds would be miraculously fixed. I have had probably the hardest and most depressing week of my life. Woulda been nice to know it wasn't all bad when I got back.
Also, I too was expecting the Gunblade job to be more akin to a dps. Initially I was hoping Blue mage would be a magic tank (absorbs hits/elements, dishes them back out as damage depending on elements absorbed), dancer healer (a healer that uses consecutive combo GCD's instead of casts, like a melee job but with healing), and a gunblader job, (probably no reason to add another melee dps but... it clearly seemed proper as a melee dps). In the end, I was glad it was a tank because I love tanking as my main anyways, but I would've kept to it regardless of the role.... The sounds however, really kicked me in the groin they changed it only 3 weeks into a new expansion. Not even getting other opinions on it or leaving it to be like they are these... I really don't understand their thinking on this. I still to this day prefer the original sounds over these we have now. The ONLY exception, being Fated Circle at this point.
Still sending in tickets, praying they at least give u some answer, even if it's "no".
I've mainly been posting on twitter, but I'll make sure to send it tickets ingame as well.
Hard to not be in "learned helplessness" mode about this.
The way they develop this game is weird. Normal studio would take as many attempts as necessary to create sound effects of acceptable quality. Here they just tried once to adjust it, absolutely failed, and now they pretend there is no problem. And it's not hard to notice it sounds like a blunt object now.
It's P2P MMORPG from AAA studio and i'm starting to feel like i'm playing some cheap F2P (and funny thing is F2P games handle it better). I have issues with some other jobs, but i can't focus everything. Here fix is obvious and easy.
I'm still sending them in-game suggestions and i'm active on twitter. Even if we fail, we at least send them message that we remember.
I slightly suspect that it may be an issue of community manager and developer disconnect. Like when you send in suggestions ingame, it says that the info would be passed along to the devs if the suggestion was relevant. I could completely see the ingame GMs just going "the 5.01 sounds are perfect" and just deleting the suggestions. Same with whoever manages the twitter account or whatever. Developers could probably have no idea that there's any pushback at all, unless they personally take the time to inspect the forums. And given that these are the English language forums, I find it extremely unlikely.
But that's just me and my conspiracy theory hat, I guess.
