In my opinion, the Solid Barrel combo is the sound you get when you go dust your futon. Which is to hang it on a pole and whack it with a stick. Although the sound you get depends on the said stick and it's shape...I still don't know what they were thinking with the current sound effects for Gunbreaker, especially for the Solid Barrel combo, people joked (myself included) about it sounding like a pool noodle, but after playing it for a while, I would say it sounds more akin to sawing through drywall, which is just about the most grating sound I could possibly think of, there is also a jarring difference with how your auto attacks sound and how your combo sounds. I even preferred the sounds of the old cartridge combo, with my only complaint being that they (fated circle included) were a bit quiet, especially the first hit of Continuation, everything else was fine, the current ones sound like cannon blasts instead of explosions. I honestly don't even know why Blasting Zone was touched.
I sincerely hope they change in 5.1, even back to the old ones, its gotten to the point where the sounds are so grating that I don't even want to play the job anymore, I remember a guy in the novice network being very upset over how the job sounds nothing like it did in the job action trailer.
