The job wasn't ruined for me personally, but I will of course give a +1 in support of bringing the old sounds back. The change was pointless to begin with imo.

Wow, that is definitely better in the old sound. It's a lot more oomph for each hit. Some of the SFX even sounded like that "bullet sliding down steel" SFX you get in some anime or movies.I don't have the full continuation combo from the old set, since when I recorded mine, it was when I was below level 70. However there's a post of the keen edge combo compared by Very Merri here.

And then I have my video of most of the old sounds here.

EXACTLY!!!!! You can also hear them in the job action trailer as the first job shown. Blasting zone had a bit more oomph to it then too, not sure why they changed that when the minority that complained was talking about the explosions on hits either.
I'm so dissapointed, they could have fixed this a long time age and no change was needed in the first place.
Aniway you have my vote as well.
Supporting this thread.
Because aparantly the Japanese community (before the change) had people complaining that it sounded like they were attacking things with scissors... and when Japan complains, Square takes immediate action... When NA complains, though....
Also I voted yes to bring back the old sounds. I don't like attacking with a wiffle bat
Ya know, we're getting pointed fingers at like we use hyperbole/exaggeration but "sounds like scissors" feels like more of that. Whereas now, I could genuinely find a sturdy piece of cardboard, a wooden stick from the garden section of walmart, and literally beat and scrape the cardboard with it and it would sound just the same as the sounds we currently have to the perfect point. So when I say "this job sounds like beating cardboard with wood".... I'm not exaggerating, I could replicate this for real, and that's pathetic. I LOVED our original sounds personally but they should look like a godsend to the JP community now, for me its "GIVE ME BACK MY CHILD" feeling. I really just hate it right now, I hope they don't experiment with the sounds anymore, plz just give back the old ones ffs.Because aparantly the Japanese community (before the change) had people complaining that it sounded like they were attacking things with scissors... and when Japan complains, Square takes immediate action... When NA complains, though....

Please do not point fingers without getting the context right. All NA/EU/JP feedback to the devs in the first 2 weeks of 5.0 release asking for "impact" sound effect changes which i did browse back then but ignored them because i find the original already good maybe just increase the explosion sound volume. Soken did tweet out regarding this stating "Due to some feedback from a small group of warriors of light". Currently in JP there are a majority of them asking for the original sound effects to come back only a small minority are happy with the current changes.
I completely are on this aswell with you. The new sounds sound absolutely D U L L -no offense- If players are happy with today's sounds, let it be optional to have em or the original. Please Square Enix, hear us, please, bring the original sounds back. We beg youI don't even understand why they were changed, it's the SFX that made me instantly fell in love with the J O B. Absolutely. For me personally I can't understand why it was changed.... completely not. If you want to make both parties happy (cause I think they were changed maybe due to a minority) make it -as already mentioned- optional. Let the 5.0 Sounds for Gunbreaker be Default, and give people the possiblity to activate the "new" sounds, if they like it. Shouldn't be impossible. Regards!

Exactly, so I don't get why people are pointing figures at people like me requesting to change them back when I wasn't one of the ones who requested any change to begin with. People go "people asking for change, now they're asking to change it back". There's a LOT of finger pointing going on lately, atm I don't care anymore who made this issue, I'm just wanting it resolved. Please do not point fingers without getting the context right. As nice of a fix as this may be. I could see people going nuts saying why wasn't XX job changed sounds so we can flip flop sounds like GNB? Or the fact that sound changes are hard to manually change compared to graphics, you remember how long it took to get Performance working to what we have now. Not as easy as say the bahamut size thing as far as I could see anyways, but maybe?I completely are on this aswell with you.
