Does anybody have actual video or audio of the original sounds? I never picked up GNB until after the changes, so I'm not sure what they sounded like before. I'm okay with the current sounds, but if the original ones sound better I'll agree with changing the audio back.

I don't have the full continuation combo from the old set, since when I recorded mine, it was when I was below level 70. However there's a post of the keen edge combo compared by Very Merri here.

And then I have my video of most of the old sounds here.

I leveled Gunbreaker solely through trusts. After awhile the sounds grew on me, each and every one of them. And that Final run of Mt.Gulg where I hit level 80 I will never forget.
2 mobs before the final boss, when I unlocked Blasting zone. The first time I heard that noise in game I was so happy and happy with Gunbreaker overall. (my fave tank at this point)

I loved the clink sounds of the parts in the Solid Barrel combo while slashing away. Same with gnashing fang combo, aoe combo, rough divide and even lighting shot. Blasting zone was just icing on the cake.

After the patch that they were "changed" I felt pretty upset. They no longer have the charm to them that I was used to and they just sound awful (like a hollow bat whacking things, no slashes at all).
And they changed almost 90% of the attacks sounds. Bow shock and Sonic break being the only unchanged to my knowledge.
The new sounds are no longer mechanical or have the clink (hard to describe the noise prior to changes but people who play gnb know) sound to them.

I was upset so I voiced my concerns about them only to be met with "my opinion doesn't matter" and told to "kill myself" which at the time of the new raids patch just made the whole experience unpleasant.
But Gunbreaker doesn't feel the same so I haven't felt like touching it since.

That aside, I dislike the new sounds and I know I'm not alone in disliking the new sounds and I and others would very much like the old sounds back. Please.
BIG SAME here. I hate how many people try and tell me "it's okay, it doesn't matter" or "shut up, just play the job or move on" or something to the equivalent of "how can sounds really make you feel like this?".

That was partially why I tried out a striking dummy first too. I wanted to hear what they did first before I got to enjoy Eden. I'm glad I did because even Merri said something along the lines of how he started Eden not knowing the sounds changed and it really threw him off during it. I was ready for it and just said... well.... this is awful.... I guess I'll go at least have fun in Eden.

No one should tell you to kill yourself though, everyone passionate about this job just wants the best for it in the end. Which should mean they should take pride in the original sounds that were shown in the trailers we had before release and accept how they sounded both GOOD, AND unique. Anyone who says that is a lot worse off in life likely. All this said, I 100% support your post because I've been through all the same and some people will just not understand why it matters to us.

Wow, that is definitely better in the old sound. It's a lot more oomph for each hit. Some of the SFX even sounded like that "bullet sliding down steel" SFX you get in some anime or movies.

EXACTLY!!!!! You can also hear them in the job action trailer as the first job shown. Blasting zone had a bit more oomph to it then too, not sure why they changed that when the minority that complained was talking about the explosions on hits either.

Because aparantly the Japanese community (before the change) had people complaining that it sounded like they were attacking things with scissors... and when Japan complains, Square takes immediate action... When NA complains, though....

Also I voted yes to bring back the old sounds. I don't like attacking with a wiffle bat

Ya know, we're getting pointed fingers at like we use hyperbole/exaggeration but "sounds like scissors" feels like more of that. Whereas now, I could genuinely find a sturdy piece of cardboard, a wooden stick from the garden section of walmart, and literally beat and scrape the cardboard with it and it would sound just the same as the sounds we currently have to the perfect point. So when I say "this job sounds like beating cardboard with wood".... I'm not exaggerating, I could replicate this for real, and that's pathetic. I LOVED our original sounds personally but they should look like a godsend to the JP community now, for me its "GIVE ME BACK MY CHILD" feeling. I really just hate it right now, I hope they don't experiment with the sounds anymore, plz just give back the old ones ffs.

All NA/EU/JP feedback to the devs in the first 2 weeks of 5.0 release asking for "impact" sound effect changes which i did browse back then but ignored them because i find the original already good maybe just increase the explosion sound volume. Soken did tweet out regarding this stating "Due to some feedback from a small group of warriors of light". Currently in JP there are a majority of them asking for the original sound effects to come back only a small minority are happy with the current changes.

    Bring back old GNBRK Sounds!

I completely are on this aswell with you. The new sounds sound absolutely D U L L -no offense- If players are happy with today's sounds, let it be optional to have em or the original. Please Square Enix, hear us, please, bring the original sounds back. We beg you I don't even understand why they were changed, it's the SFX that made me instantly fell in love with the J O B. Absolutely. For me personally I can't understand why it was changed.... completely not. If you want to make both parties happy (cause I think they were changed maybe due to a minority) make it -as already mentioned- optional. Let the 5.0 Sounds for Gunbreaker be Default, and give people the possiblity to activate the "new" sounds, if they like it. Shouldn't be impossible. Regards!

Then like 90% of playerbase would just set original in options. Either way it's better to create something that satisfies majority, we can't make everything customizable. And i wouldn't feel very comfortable knowing that there are players who hear that my sword sounds like a hammer.
