I sat at a dummy for 30mins applying it and it never changes the name or icon of the debuff on them. It's still the orange color and not blue.

It doesn't stack with Higanbana
exactly, I really hope they fix it.
Is this crazy?

Why would you ever waste tsubame-gaeshi on higanbana in the first place though? The potency of Kaeshi version is the same as kaiten buffed higanbana and it’s an ability so it can’t be buffed by kaiten itself.
I assume if you wanted to DoT a second enemy it could make sense.
OP, Have you tried doing Higanbana on one striking dummy and then Kaeshi: Higanbana on a second one? I'm assuming it doesn't stack and seeing as the potency is the same it's not overwriting the regular Higanbana.
It should overwrite the original as Banana Kae is 375 pot and 52 pot DoT, where as original is 250 pot with 35 pot DoT. Using it on a dummy shows it refreshes the dot but does not show the correct icon nor name under the target hp bar. It does register the hit as a Kae Banana when it shows the skill name over the target when used however (i.e +Kae Banana)I assume if you wanted to DoT a second enemy it could make sense.

Tested more on the overwrite and icon by using an un kaitened banana then used the upgraded version. registers the hit but does not show the icon change nor skill name to reflect.
Also went out to summerford, used two dummies, applied regular Banana to one and then Kae Banana on another, both show the same icon and names, one however does just a smidgen more of dmg per tick. Need an ACT to confirm if it registered the two different types however.

I do believe people have mathed out that is still a loss compared to a double midare.I assume if you wanted to DoT a second enemy it could make sense.

Considering how many gcd it takes to set up a second midare compared to just doing a higanbana normally.
