    AST still not fun to play. Might as well delete. Since they are catering the changes to the minority thats just a waste of resources to focus their development on the min maxers perspective. When casual players have moved to something not min max or parser oriented. What's the point of developing a class that only elitists play. Seems hypocritical if they are trying to attract the casual crowd.

    You forget arrow and even then when the card whas not that good you had the option with one more button press to convert it into a king or queen so you were more flexible. Heck even a aoe bole wasn’t that bad in specific situations.

    Arrow is detrimental to some jobs, such as Ninja and Monk, and barely a bonus to some others. You definitely should not have been Expanding it unless you didn't have an Ninja or a Monk, and even then it wouldn't be nearly as good as a Spear or Balance.

    For example, the difference between expanding a Balance, Spear or Arrow was about the same difference in outcome as Divination at 6%, 4% or 2%.

    If you need an AoE Bole, you're not playing healer very well. You can't rely on RNG for essential mitigation skills.
    This is why AST was a balancing nightmare, it had RNG dps and RNG healer skills, which you can’t balance against the other healers.

    The entire Astro playstyle now is of you have 3 seals you just convert every single card into small arcana and if you miss one seal you fish for 2 out of 6 cards. It’s the same fricking system we had then without individuality at all. Back then you had difference cards and buffs. Now it’s just draw don’t even look at the card when you have 3 seals just convert and then the same 2 color will tell you if it is meele or range. No thinking no flexibility and just because you are forced to do 3 ogcd just to throw the fricking card doesn’t make it better. So in short it sucks and you are forced to work 110% every run to even come close to whm dps or even healing. Just the fact that almost every progress group takes whm over Astro because it heals more and deals more dmg for less the effort should tell you that even astro mains hate these changes.

    Here the math. Expanded balance is straight up 5% extra dps.
    Expanded arrow is 5% reduced GCDs and auto-attacks, which translates to 1/0.95 = 5.3% extra dps in regards to GCDs and auto-attacks only.
    Expanded spear is 5% extra crit rate. Assuming the worst case scenario at 364 base crit, we're comparing (1*0.95+1.4*0.05) to (1*0.9 + 1.4*0.1), which is 1.96% increased damage on average. However, spear only lasts 20 seconds. So to compare them, spear (1.96%*20 = 39.2) is worth less than a third of a balance (5%*30 = 150). Again, this is only if everyone in your party has no crit bonuses. With higher crit, the better spear becomes.

    That whas with the 20 sec crit after that it got better. And arrow gets further ahead when enhanced with 2,6 % more dmg. But it’s always the same problem it’s make you faster so you may clip it with ability windows or buff timing etc.

    So old enhanced arrow had a dps increase with 12,6 % dmg for double the time we do have now. Same with divenation and single target cards. The only last 15 secs that’s nothing even the old single target cards had 10 and lasted 30 seconds

    Entirely theoretical, and only applies when protracted over a long period of time.
    In a 30s window you’ll have about 14 GCD’s max, or 12 if you haven’t stacked any Speed materia.
    That’s not enough time to reap the benefits of a 5% increased speed buff. Your 13th/15th GCD at the end of that 30s window will come a second or two quicker, and not even a whole GCD quicker. That’s it. You’d need to be able to fit 20 GCD’s into that window to gain one whole extra GCD, and only Ninja could do that, but that would cause clipping and therefore cancel out all benefit of it.

    If it was a permanent buff throughout a fight it would make a difference.
