How about a personal loot system?

We've seen some changes with the savage loot system that... are a bit unnecessary and make things worse for low priority characters, but it's nice to see an attempt at improvements I guess.

But, how about a personal loot system? It kind of sucks that raiding is the only thing this game requires an alt character for - and a high maintenance alt at that, since you have to keep current on gear on 2 or 3 characters if that's how much you want to raid.

With a personal loot system - it would be nice to be able to raid with more than one group on only one character, without having to worry about messing up the loot for everyone else. (Not to mention smaller issues like if you bring your better geared alt to a different group one week, there tends to be salt if you take any loot...)

I'm apparently really out of the loop with these loot changes, but I keep hearing people talk about it. I've read the patch notes and guess I'm not understanding something? Can you explain what the loot changes are?

Now each of the Savage fights will drop various Edengrace coffers (just like those coffers handed out in ShB quests) that can be opened to give a piece of gear based on the opener's current class.

As the coffers are not role locked, players playing "low gear priority" roles (dps>healers>tanks seems to be the priority I', hearing about) are unlikely to see any raid gear for several weeks as the higher priority roles are given coffers first.

I think it's more common for it to be DPS > tanks > healers, but essentially yes.

Previously, only upgrade items would be routed to DPS first because, well, if that tank or healer piece drops you can't exactly change it. With the coffers, 100% of the loot can be routed to DPS.

The main issue that's been brought up is that it makes pugging even more of a cluster!@#%. This is unfortunate for those without statics, as you're almost always going to full against a full party. While this is functionally not all that different from before (Loot has to drop first, so at least everyone gets their chance now), it also means those who already have their gear aren't barred, let alone discouraged, from rolling again.

For statics, loot can be funneled however. Depends on your static. Mine have decided on "if it's BIS, roll", which is pretty fair imo.

I wonder if I can convince mine to go with such a policy...

I mean why wouldn’t they? That’s the normal accepted model with coffers and good statics...

A personal loot system makes way too much sense for an aggressive endgame like this.

    NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Personal Loot sucks.

I call it "Personal No Loot" because I hate killing a boss and getting nothing but money again and again and again and again and again.

    Leave loot alone, please.

    NbG works just fine.

But if the item you need doesn't drop or you lose the roll, you just killed the boss for nothing but money anyway...

I just don't understand this particular arguement against personal loot. There ARE proper valid arguements against it but this isn't one of them. It's basically the same exact thing as the current system except you cut out the middleman and don't need to roll.
