Honestly, I'm convinced a lot of people around here won't be happy until their healer is on untouchable God level in every aspect.
I'm really good with these changes.
SCHs aren’t asking for bigger numbers. We’re asking for our job to be as fun as it used to be. Which it’s not (in my opinion, and based on others’ posts I think many people agree). I don’t think that’s too big of an ask.

I realize I'm in a minority here, but I like SCH as it is right now. In fact, I didn't even want Energy Drain back (would much rather have a trait that converts unused Aetherflow stacks into MP when you use Aetherflow).
But yeah, SCH is comfy for me. I never liked having a lot of DoTs to manage. Only having to keep track of Biolysis is good enough for me.
not untoucheable
but what u see when u play dps is how some are so .. exhausting and need so much planning and focus to do your rotation right.
something you don't really see on healers, except for AST.
I feel they went the right direction on whm with mixing a bit damage and healing (too little tho). I want the healer classes to feel busier too. more engaging ... though I'm happy with SCH changes, why wouldn't I ... it's just the dps part is boring and the healing part isn't engaging either. The job could be funnier
The posts I've made in these healer forums that have gotten the most likes are the ones where I'm suggesting that they don't make us OP and make the job enjoyable. My sentiments have also extended that OP healing is boring. The last saving grace for my healer, SCH, being fun was that it had a DPS rotation. But many of us are just asking for more to do in that downtime or/and less of a downtime. I don't care if SCH aren't top DPS of healers, I think WHM should be because we have a little more utility than they do. If we're doing too much damage, removing spells we like casting isn't the right solution to a problem. Every other type of job has their potencies adjusted if they're imbalanced. Removal of skills is normally to streamline a job or make way for newer ones. These changes haven't streamlined the job nor made way for anything new, it's just made them less engaging.
Somebody said in another post, they'd rather have a Bio that's 15 potency per tick and a Miasma that's 15 potency per tick than just a Bio that's 30 potency per tick. And I think this is kinda the point. The complaint isn't to do with how much damage we do, but how it feels to play.
If anything, my biggest complaint has been that SCH is too much of a God level. Because in being a God level, I have more downtime that I feel I should as a healer and it makes the healing aspect unengaging. And it has erased an aspect of SCH healing that I happened to like.
Glad that they buffed AST somewhat. Sad that they nerfed AST Shields and didn't bother with collective unconscious.

Guys. The shields weren't nerfed. Math says as much.
Aspected Helios:
Before: shield = 250% * 100 = 250
After: shield = 125% * 200 = 250
Shield is exactly the same.
Celestial opposition:
Before: shield = 100 * 150% = 150
After: shield = 200 * 125% = 250
Shield has been buffed
Celestial intersection:
Before: shield = 200% * 150 = 300
After: shield = 150% * 200 = 300
Shield is the same.

Ok. Well that's a relief.
