Never been. I don't think I'd like it, I'm pretty sure you can't use emotes there.
Everyone in FFXIV is much nicer since you mostly need to teamup for almost everything lol. That's why its very rare for someone to be so toxic. If you ever find yourself in GM jail, you probably did something really bad lol.
You be surprised how many toxic people i came across while tanking, healing or running dungeons in general, either by behaviour or use of words and it will become even more common as more people migrate from WoW.
When I think about it, it would be really easy for them to determine if someone was botting if they just had a GM temporarily jail a suspect who's exhibiting unusual behavior and has been reported regularly to see how they react, because a bot is going to either do absolutely nothing, start glitching out and repeatedly spamming actions like Teleport in an attempt to get itself back on track, or resort to a shoddy automated response in an attempt to avoid being punished.
People really need to drop the notion that WoW is making XIV more toxic.
It's always had its share of elitists, just less because XIV's content does not demand that people actually perform anywhere near their best outside of maybe savage/ultimate, unlike WoW where even dungeon trash poses a risk of wiping a group if you don't respect the mechanics at play
Any sensible WoW players who migrate here will quickly grasp that people do not need to be that good to get through most of the content and withhold the trash talk accordingly.

"Sometimes I wonder I heal for fun. or if I heal because I'm a glutton for punishment."
I'm one of those WoW immigrants your mother warned you about and I've probably run into more intense toxicity here than in WoW. It's less frequent here but when it happens, it can be pretty gruesome.
Over in the Blizzard playground trash talking just means "Hello" at this point. It's goofy white noise.
In FFXIV, for ever 1 toxic ppl i meet, i meet 100 good nice peeps xD. As long as you don't raid and just do casual stuff, you'll probably almost never encounter toxic ppl too lol.
Now if your the type of player who for example: Plays Gunbreaker, is already lvl 68, still wearing the default lvl 60 NQ gear, and pulls everything, you can expect toxicity right there lol.
Not saying everyone is bad, but there is quite alot who are. I used to play WoW myself back in the day when it was still a good game lolI'm one of those WoW immigrants your mother warned you about and I've probably run into more intense toxicity here than in WoW. Blizzard games in general attract alot of toxicity, Overwatch is a prime example.
But lets not derail the discussion.
