    Alphabetize The Emotes List [suggestion]

I never really understood the order in which the emotes list is organized. Maybe the list was populated a specific way in Japanese and then simply translated and left as is. It's always bothered me but not to an extent that I wanted to post feedback on the forums (especially since it's not likely that a change will be made). In any case, I would like to see the emotes list presented in alphabetical order. To me, it just makes sense.

Yes, for the love of the Twelve. Yes.
I've been thinking about this since ARR. The ordering of emotes doesn't make sense. They're not ordered by name, color, or anything intuitive. Something needs to be done about it, and giving them alphabetical order is a good start.

Alphabetized and also ordered by the type/color of emote it is!

I always understood the order of the emotes to be:
    • Social/Greetings (bow, welcome, goodbye, wave, kneel, salute) - mostly silver icons, except /welcome, which is gold
    • Positive/Happy feelings (chuckle, laugh, joy, happy, etc...) -- mostly gold icons
    • Negative/Sad/Angry feelings (no, deny, fume, sulk, shocked, facepalm, grovel...) -- mostly blue icons, except for /surprised, which is gold for some reason...
    • Neutral feelings (pose, handover, doze, point, lookout, converse) -- silver icons

I've also noticed that for the most part, if there are two "versions" of an emote, like /no and /deny, or /chuckle and /laugh, the "milder" one usually comes first while the "stronger" one comes second. Also, the sitting version of the stronger one is identical to the milder one, usually.

It doesn't make sense to alphabetize the emote list. If you knew the name of the emote so that you could find it in a list, you would be typing it instead of looking for it in a list.

It is arranged as Reno points out.

If you know the first letter of the emote but you're unsure of the exact spelling, type what you do know and then tab to see the autotranslate results. All the emotes are in the autotranslate dictionary, in alphabetical order.

That might be true if you're sitting at a desk in front of your PC, but playing from the couch, if I don't have my keyboard on my lap already for other reasons (i.e. if I'm not in the middle of a conversation), I'm not going to get my keyboard out just for an emote. That means I'm nearly always picking emotes from the list, and being able to find them easier would help.
