Anyone been to GM jail?

I got randomly teleported into GM jail after apparently having offended someone. The GM would not explain as to what i said to offend this person as it went against their policy.

I got a minor caution, but still a strange experience. In ESO they give you an email with details of what you said, so you can fix your behaviour.

Anyone had similiar experiences?

Been a few people who have reported they said something to offend others but had zero idea what was said. So who really knows, if you are known for cursing that could be it, but it could have also been the off comment "Lalafell are potato" that ticked someone off. No one really needs a reason these days to "be offended"

Yeah, its a really weird policy to have. They should give you details of what you said instead of keeping it a secret. I was told it was due to players retaliating against the one who filed the report. Being secret about it won't change a persons behaviour, however showing what they said could improve their behaviour as they would know what would be deemed offencive or not.

I told them anyone could falsely report people if they edited logs too, but apparently GM's got the logs from the moment it happened. So they are always obeserving.

True, too much moderation can make people cautious of saying anything at all, or leave the game altogheter. Its better to be honest and straight forward than being secretive.

I went to jail a few times in XI. It's the same Mordion Gaol. SE either won't tell you what you've done or will be very vague about it. Their customer service is garbage tier and their GM's usually have their hands tied.

Yes, though it was for trying to break a DoL bot that was being monitored by somebody (I've since figured out who the main account behind the bots is and have shifted my focus to trying to get him banned instead...), not anything that could truly be considered harassment.

The GM was merciful enough to not even give me a caution for it, though.

Maybe they realize the STF is terrible at their job and that their hands are basically being kept tied by SE's horrible enforcement policies?

It really is confusing to be told you did something wrong, but not to be told what. I mean... how do they expect you to not repeat the behavior when they decide just to give you a warning? I'd be a nervous wreck for weeks if this happened to me since I'd have no clue as to what prompted it.

Yeah, its good to share stories, perhaps there might be something people learn from it. I heard stories of people being sent to the jail for having inapproriate names and stuff.

I don't blame them for following their policies though, however they could do better than this. Im glad they take reports seriously instead of just leaving it alone.
