"traditional"? I'm wondering how many FF games you've played? For the longest time, spell names were Fire1, Fire2, Fire3, Fire4, Ice1, Ice2, Ice3, Ice4, Bolt1, Bolt2, Bolt3, Bolt4, etc. Traditional is the numbered system. Even the games that use Fire, Fira, Firaga, etc don't use them consistently between games. In FFXI, for example, the single target spells were Fire #, etc., and the aoe spells were Firaga #, etc. I'm not necessarily opposed to the naming convention you're referring to (it would, honestly, make things seem a little less odd with how these spells work in XIV), but it's not really correct to call them the traditional names.
