Will ranger come from musketeer or thief, obviously archer will be the sub class
MAGIC MUSHY ROOMS
I'd rather see musketeer be the "job" and have ranger be the "class," or not even have a ranger involved in the process at all; I don't see them providing anything unique to the game. Corsair, or preferably a Gambler would be an appropriate complement to the musketeer, based on the game's lore, I think.
If there must be a ranger, it should come off of archer, or it can be paired with an additionally blasé, but highly requested companion, the thief.

My guess is that RNG will be a second Archer Job.
It wouldn't be difficult to add 2nd jobs to all the current classes.. (Not that this would be my preference, but it's certainly an easy step for them to take.)
eg.
GLA (+ THM) -> Red Mage
PGL (+ ARC) -> Dancer
LNC (+ MRD) -> Samurai
ARC (+ LNC) -> Ranger (or Sniper, if you want a FFT approach)
MRD (+ THM) -> Dark Knight
THM (+ ARC) -> Time Mage
CNJ (+ PGL) -> Geomancer
Actually, if they were to go back and do this right, they would have made a "Musician" class -- in which Bard, Geomancer, and Dancer could all be jobs of.
But I suppose it's a bit late for that now...

Agreed. We need more jobs before we can add instruments to bards.
The function of an instrument would to stack more songs per bard.
As of right now, theres enough party space for more than one bard to be in party (depending on how you set up)
With more jobs, bards will become more scarce so instruments will be able to compensate for not being able to stack songs. At least thats the way i see it.
Plus the bard concept is holding a horn in the 2.0 artwork sooo yeah well probably be seeing instruments.

I like your signature... though I don't agree with the Evoker, or most of the job cominations in your post :OMy guess is that RNG will be a second Archer Job.
