I am guessing you would change your tune if you were a Culinarian and all you EVER got for rewards were Onions and Carrots and Apples. From R1-R35 leves the same 3 rewards.. Sorry rewards should scale based on rank I should not get the same crap for every leve of every rank I do.

selectable rewards are a good idea. They don't need to make EVERY reward chosen amazing. You can give simply a static list of 6 selectable items.. 4 Common, 2 Uncommon and a random low % chance to get a rarer item as a 7th choice. Hell you could actually make quality for local leves actually mean something by giving an 1% increase of a rarer reward for every 2-4 points of your final leve quality.
