I have read about a workaround for it but i dont like the tradeoff.
I've noticed more problems like this, and I just bought a new ps4 controller for expac. Works fine on PS4 and other games, but it's really sporadic when it happens so it could be hard to notice. Either way it definitely has felt like something is off with controllers since ShB launch.

It could be kind of like an audiophile thing. Some people can't tell the difference between a $100 or $1000 or $10000 stereo system but other people certainly claim they can.

They absolutely did make changes of some kind, we were never able to jump and spin 360 with a controller like we can now.

EDIT: Recalling the events. My previous controller had already developed dead zones which I knew about, which is why I planned on replacing it for the expac. I played through the first day or 2 of Early Access because when I went to pick up a new controller at Fry's that Friday I couldn't find anyone to unlock the cage, but the controller was getting worse so I went to Best Buy to get a new controller either that Saturday night or Sunday. When I got back with it and plugged it in, immediately I started experiencing that "sticky" movement where my character would keep walking or the camera would keep spinning when using the analog sticks. It was and still is happening randomly. To be honest my initial thought was maybe it was a bad connection (I use it wired, not wireless) so I've since adjusted to make sure I'm always sitting so the cord is straight and not getting bent. Seemed to help a bit, so maybe it is the controller, but it still randomly wigs out. Whether it's a hardware or software issue I can't really say for sure, but the experience was still similar with both controllers (the sticky character & camera movement). But it's difficult to believe it's the controller itself since it seems to be fine on PS4, if anything it's probably the connection. Although it seems odd for the connection to suddenly go kaput at the same time the expac launched, definitely was not happening prior to it.

Either way, it's a little disengenious to say they didn't change anything when they acknowledged the change to jump spinning in the most recent live letter. Besides, it wouldn't have had to been a direct or intentional change. If they just changed one thing it could've effected others without realizing it, pretty sure that sort of thing happens quite regularly in programming.

Dragoons can currently change their direction during Jump. If this becomes a sort of necessary technique, we may have to disable this on dragoon’s Jump actions. The normal jump won’t be changed.
They are talking about Dragoons Jump...with a capitalized J...as in the attack name...not gamepad...So where is the patch notes that says gamepad settings have changed? You're personal issues with your controller is not confirmation SE changed anything. But even if changes to regular jumping were made (I recall always being able to change the direction my character is facing when I jump around), BLaCKnBLu3B3RRY complaints are about:

One jump is, the other isn't. The reddit translation was a bit more thorough.

Not sure why you feel the need to be SE's white knight about this. I admitted it could be a hardware problem, but it's really strange coincidence if it occurred at the same time as 5.0 launch, because it certainly wasn't happening before it.

Claiming no one else was saying anything about it is the reason I posted it. I can't confirm the other things OP mentions, I vaguely recall messing with my sensitivity setting some, but not really the rest of it. What I know is that in 6 years of playing this game on a controller it's never acted up the way it has recently, so unless you're prepared to flat out call me a liar about my own experiences you need to step back. You're not a community rep and it's not your responsibility to respond to user feedback on their behalf.

Furthermore, if it was something that got messed up inadvertently through another change it wouldn't exactly be a bullet point in the patch notes... They may not even know. Which is why we provide feedback.. Is that OK with you?

I'm a Steam user and my gamepad seems fine. Granted I divorced the launcher and all that from Steam a long time ago (my library says the last time I played was 2015) but it's still absolutely the Steam version I use.

I've been using a gameplad for years and the only change I noticed was the fact that we can "twirl" when jumping now by spinning the left joystick. I don't recall being able to do that before 5.0.

Other than that, everything is exactly the same.

nothing on my end changed... Square Enix 100% changed something. there's no other explanation. i will never understand why people make such unnecessary changes to things when there was nothing wrong in the first place. blows my mind. if people aren't noticing the changes, then so be it... blows my mind, because the changes are obvious.

it's not a STEAM thing either. playing the game without STEAM, i don't have the game purchased through STEAM, changes nothing. and absolutely nothing on my end has changed. same exact controller, same exact config profile... same exact drivers for the Bluetooth. the ONLY thing that has changed is the game. Square Enix changed something on the controllers and it is for the worse.

i am only just now noticing it, because i am only just now re-subscribing. either way... HW everything was then the release SB everything is wonk. only possible explanation is that SE changed something.

Source please. Nothing changed on Square's end. I run my DS4 through DS4Windows and not steam.

    Been buttery smooth.

well, that doesn't make sense... i have changed absolutely nothing on my PC since last playing this game before Shadowbringers. so... if nothing changed on my end and i am using the exact same configurations... then how is it possible that is has anything to do with me? it isn't. Square Enix changed something. i hope they fix it soon T_T

the fact of the matter is, using the exact same configurations should yield the exact same results. since nothing changed on my PC, the only possible explanation is that something in the game changed.

Well if you're absolutely convinced, we apparently can't change your mind. You'll either need to check your own hardware/software configuration and ask Square for technical help.

Does it make more sense that multiple people here have experienced no noticeable change yet you specifically are reporting problems? Without being able to duplicate this problem on other systems the problem points to your setup. It's not your FAULT, but evidence points to it being your problem and not SE's.
