What part of what I said even remotely implies that wiping in a dungeon is a common occurrence? I said dipping below 10% with a pug healer is usually a death sentence. You inferred the rest on your own.How often do you wipe in dungeons? I play only tanks and healers right now, only done wall-to-wall pulls (with a few exceptions) in the whole Shadowbringers, and only experienced I think three dungeon wipes during the whole expansion (and I just got the 100 dungeons achievement on Gunbreaker, and additionally have been doing dungeons to level Paladin, Scholar, White Mage, and Astro to 80). Reading posts like these makes it seem like they would be a common thing, something to be constantly afraid of, while in my experience they are extremely rare, so I'm a bit confused.
I guess I just find it illogical to be so afraid of dying and wiping when it doesn't really seem to be something that happens very often. I personally see no reason to not trust my pug healers or tanks in general, although some need more support from their parties than others.![]()
I wouldn't go so far as to refer to people being wary of pug healers as being "afraid" of anything. It's more like skepticism. In any case, it becomes a bit more logical if you consider the number of brand new players we've gotten since Shadowbringers launched. Granted, they'll likely improve with time, but the ones that bought level boosts really do have no idea what they are doing. The few wipes I have had thus far have been the result of things like, for example, a WHM that did not appear to realize it had any abilities other than Cure 2 and Glare. The RDM in that group legit did more than three times the actual healing (and I don't mean over healing, either) of the WHM.I guess I just find it illogical to be so afraid of dying and wiping when it doesn't really seem to be something that happens very often. I personally see no reason to not trust my pug healers or tanks in general, although some need more support from their parties than others.
I feel like a lot or tanks dont smartly smooth damage either. Many tanks will pull 3 groups and blow all cooldowns immediately. They take no damage for like 15 seconds then suddenly start getting mauled. That is hardly giving healers mental time to notice the damage.
Proper tanking is about damage smoothing, not complete prevention. It is better to sequentially use your cooldowns in order, starting with the more powerful ones up front since the whole pack is alive at the start.
HG>Sentinel>Arms length>rampart all while putting up Shelton when available.
Use shield bash on 1 or 2 enemies at a time. This means you are basically fighting 1 or 2 fewer enemies in the pack through the fight.
If you do this and still die, then you just have a bad healer or you are undergeared. There are plenty of bad ones but just as many good ones. If you carefully control your damage intake, good healers will find it a piece of cake to heal you.

That incoming damage smoothing is a good point. The other point is, do not pull three groups of mobs at once if your gear is not suitable for this. If a "tank" loses 2/3 of his hitpoints in 2 seconds then it is way too much. It is not possible to heal such incoming damage without using cooldowns like "Benediction" or something. And if a healer is the target of an AoE-attack he has to make this choices: stand in the AoE and die and the group will wipe in 10 seconds afterwards. Or run out of the AoE, the "tank" will die in 3 seconds and the group will wipe again after 10 seconds.
Greetings

More oGCD in 5.0 for heal
Less CD for Tank
I do dying slightly more since ShB, still not common but more than previous expansion
Actually the problem with sch healing now is it's not strong enough to power through big pulls without weaving at all. It's potencies are low due to shielding and that hurts them. EoS used to 45% a scholars output but now it doesn't. That powerful healz is a myth when you look at the potencies it actually does have. A good scholar has to weave emergency tactics into every second adlo to just keep up with large amounts of dmg. AST and WHM just need to keep a regen or two on you. Excog should only be used in situations where you'd use bene for tank saving due to lustrate being such a bad and useless heal now and sacred soil should always be on CD. The problem is SCH is such a focused healer you can't really offord to dps at all in most instances of dungeons, but in raids you effectively lose that focus all together.I think Scholar has just changed in a jarring way. You have no crowd control (Shadowflare) now, you can't force the fairy to focus Embrace on the tank because it can't be bound to the hotbar anymore, you can't spread DoTs while Adlo and Excognition are up and then heal, Rouse is gone, etc. Sacred Soil has regen now and a lot of potencies were increased so the job is plenty powerful, but so much change.

is not common but is not extremely rare either
before ShB release the chance of Healer pushing to limit and causing my life is very rare like 1 in 100 or even 1 in 200 run
in ShB I have run less than 50 dungeon runs, and already have seen at least 4 times healer being over confident.
Boss fight is fine, the fight is very predictable, trash pull not so much, healer over confident causing tank dropping always happen in trash pull
I'm sorry but this is pure nonsense. For anyone who wants to understand how Scholar works in Shadowbringers dungeons, check out Momo's video guide: https://youtu.be/wE1Ay8mmVB8Actually the problem with sch healing now is it's not strong enough to power through big pulls without weaving at all.
