Backseat gaming happens regardless of gender.Let me preface this by saying I could be SO INCREDIBLY WRONG here, and if so, I apologize.
But how this reads to me is that you were watching a female gamer play a game and you offered unsolicited advice in her chat, which it seems she has rules asking not to do. When she replied that she was wanting to experience the game first-hand (which many people do), you got so offended at being rebuffed that you had to come here and proceed to trash talk her skill and play style all because she refused your help that she never asked for.
For lack of a better term, it's giving me some neckbeard/nice-guy vibes.
For me, I like to watch Hearthstone matches from streamers who I find entertaining, skilled and clever. Kibler, wowhobbs, disguisedtoast and regiskilburn are good personalities with very interesting decks and the skill to play them, imo. I also enjoy watching specific streamers playing horror games. Day9 playing Amnesia back in the day made for some good laughs.
Whatever the case may be, personality is often the biggest draw for streamers. Its not so much what they play, as it is their being entertaining while they play it, like Game Grumps can draw a crowd playing pong if they want to.
Skill, or lack thereof, is the other possible draw. Speed runners usually aren't very entertaining on a personality level, but goddamn is it clear their level of knowledge and skill is tremendous. Alternatively, lack of skill can on occasion make up for poor personality, too, though in a painful train wreck kind of way. Its so bad you can't look away. Look up Darksydephil playing Dark Souls for a perfect example of this

Your first issue is the fact that you gave advice.
Never give advice unless sprouts ask for it, I learned it the hard way.
Sprouts who are like what you mentioned and keep failing, just laugh with them (don't put it in chat though) and then when the run is over put them on blacklist and pray you never get grouped with them again.
As for the sprouts who actually say hello and/or I'm new or any advice those are the people you need to look after and give advice wherever you can, these are often the best people you'll meet in this game.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Of course it does, but OP is the one who mentioned the streamer's gender in the first post. I am also not really too worried about them offering a rather vague warning about what was to come (if the story is 100% true).
What DOES bother me is the fact that they were seemingly so offended by her response, which doesn't really seem that bad, that they felt the need to come onto the game's official forums to talk down about her.
It really reeks of "This girl didn't give me the attention I wanted, so now I'm going to trash her to feel better".

I'd be bothered, too, if unsolicited advice were given. I remember my first attempt on the second fight on day one of Eden's release and someone was rattling off mechanics and telling people what to do. Like, if I don't understand something, I'll ask. And if you want to take initiative, a simple, "Would you/anyone like an explanation of mechanics?"

Yea i dont watch streamers play the game when i can play it myself.
I just hope streamers like her dont give ffxiv a bad representation to people intrested in the game.
Its consider rude on twitch to give information about a game when the streamer has not asked for it. Not everybody who plays a game wants tips, tricks or advice they want to figure things out on their own. Some streamers time people out and give them verbal warnings about back seat gaming. There not trying to be mean just trying to drive it home keep it quite about the game unless they ask.

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

As someone who used to stream often and had a decent following, you get unsolicited advice no matter what. It happens, but its how you react to it that makes the difference. If you get really nasty with your viewers, you don't deserve those viewers. If you don't want advice, esp on your stream, be nice about it. Same with being in game. If there is something that causes tons of wipes I will mention it too when we first enter if there are a bunch of new ppl so it doesn't blind side them and about 99% are appreciative. So if it really really bothers you, preform, cause you cant control what you will hear in a pug. Once I mentioned a few mechs and someone got super mad cause they wanted to "experience" the fight, but 3 others asked me to continue, so I did. Sure they were hot under the collar about it and threatened to report me, but I went with the majority and nothing came out of it if they did report me.
And when it comes to mentioning gender, I hightly doubt this would be an issue if they said they were watching some dude play. Not everyone talks in gender neutral terms all the time when it comes to describing people. I myself will say I was watching this guy or this gal, yada yada. Calling the streamer out on the forums was kindda juvenile, but its not a gender issue imo.
And again, dude here, got unsolicited advice ---all the time--- when I streamed, heck I do irl too. If I didn't want it I just asked them nicely to let me give it a shot on my own first. And people were usually super cool about it because I didn't get upset and screechy, like some streamers do.

I also like experiencing new content blind.
While they may not be the strongest of player, don't assume people want unsolicited help.
I mean, after 8 wipes or so I'm sure I'd have already asked for assistance or whatever, especially if it's just a dungeon. But to each their own.
