Then you wake up alone on a lost island with a depressing landscape and music, and you think all your friends are dead.
I'll have to agree with you here

FFXI RDM Maat lv70 cap fight. It only took me a few tries, but that old man scared the !@#! outta me, and when i finally beat him i was like screaming yessssssss hahahahahahaha. But also i agree end of the Chains of Promathia exp pack was really really good.
Final Fantasy 9 when Zidane has his breakdown
wow thinking of all the great moments over the life of final fantasy games it's hard to really pin it down to one or even a few of the best scenes. the stories on all their offline games made you feel like you were there yourself. to me it seems as all game companies have fallen away from the engaging story and went to the more time sinc in their games.
when i think about the rpg games i thing about the story like the opening cloud battle cut scene and the tidus and yuna scene in the lake.
when i think about the final fantasy mmo's they are not even in the same league with the story. i think about long hours of grinding the same mob over and over and getting to cap to get the high end gear.

When Kefka succeeded in destroying the world halfway through FF6. Was like.... wait this isn't supposed to happen in a video game....
I'm going with this as well. In fact, I've yet to beat the game just because I don't want to see Zack get gunned down.
My most powerful Final Fantasy moment, and one that I believe will remain with me for the rest of my life, is playing my first Final Fantasy title. Known as Final Fantasy II at the time, that is what started me on my love for this series and why I continue to play to this day. It's been a great (most of the time) 21 year journey for me since then, and can't wait for the next years to come.
Well that would be in my favorite Final fantasy game of all time, FFX. That was the first and last Final Fantasy I played and actually grew a relationship with the characters.
The biggest moments to me was when I found out Tidus was part of a dream world and goes through an epic battle with Sin.
Just for him to start disappearing just before Yuna hugs him.
I have a lot of major moments in that game, as I feel Square Soft did a great job building the characters throughout the story. That's the only reason I tried out FFX-2 once it released. However, that game was nowhere near the great FFX and it was very boring so I received the bad ending(since I just rushed through it).

The whole Final Fantasy Tactics game. Everything was a surprise and you never saw it coming.
