    Theres too mnay to count imo. Every story thus far has one of those big moments that is quite profound and changes the emotion of the game and draws you in even more. I could join my peers and give one and only one specific example, but for me....playing every ff game to date, it wouldnt be fair . All i have to say is, i just hope that the stories that have yet to be written or be told with a ff branding on em continue to deliver these awesome and epic storylines that make the ff series shine. Xiii was a bummer for me in many ways....it practically was just a movie that you just so happened to partake in fights w. ....but ill stfu about xiii lol.

    For me it was in FF X when Tidus stood on the cliff getting his first view of the ruins of Xanarkand. Very powerful imagery, and the game did an excellent job setting the stage for that moment. I would say from that point on there were a number of moments like that through to the end of the game. It was sort of like the first 90% of the story was preparing you for what you would feel in the last 10%. This is what you would expect from a novel or a movie, so it was nice to see it done in a game.

    It's what I want from XIV, nudge nudge hint hint....

    Easy answer: Peacock Amulet drop after 36 hours of camping. Took three one-hour naps while a pal covered me. And, while I am sure that I reeked of geek, the smell of victory covered it all up. Except for the sweat stain on my chair...that still smells today.

    For me was in FFIX:
    When Vivi saw his Black Mage brethren being totally destroyed by one of the Waltzes...you can almost see tears of sadness in those naive glowy eyes, and BOOM! his fury unleashes and destroys the Waltze's ship...that was just fkn awesome.

    What part of "Extended use of GFs may have adverse effects in your memory, especially childhood memory" was not understandable enough? Because it is actually a pretty strong twist and not predictable at all. The GF-induced partial memory loss lore was there since the beginning, you honestly did not expect it to have any impact later on?

    Sorry but, just because you did not understand the explanation or most probably did not accept it, it doesn't mean the story was fail or dumb shit or whatever. It just means YOU did not like it.

    Going by your comment about them not being able to remember each other, it seems you really just chose to not accept the explanation given by the game. Fair enough, but it by no means makes the story suck^^
    I agree with Firon.

    I just hate Squall... hate FF8 battle system... and story didn't kept me on the hook :P

    The most memorable FF moment for me was when Yuna had to say goodbye to Tidus at the end of FFX. The music so perfect for that scene. Also, I got all choked up in FFVIII when Seifer's best friends Fujin and Raijin abandon him in the Lunatic Pandora. I guess I had a personal connection with that part of the story.

    But I do personally consider FFVIII to have the strongest story of a stand alone title with many memorable scenes such as the dance, the ice shard, Squall saving Rinoa... three times I think (side of Balamb garden, in space, and from being put in stasis), and the entire OP and Ending.
    Agreed.

    Anyways...

    Final Fantasy VIII - the entire game, from beginning to end, was just one big masterpiece to it... but if there was one thing that hit me the most hands-down, it was when Squall rescued Rinoa in space after she volunteered herself to be frozen upon learning that she was a sorceress herself, just beautiful. Also, every time I watched the "Eyes on Me" ending, yeah... ;-;

    Final Fantasy X - another masterpiece, just like VIII for me.... Tidus finding out he was just a dream and nothing really real, that he was the product of someone or something else's memory (even if no one likes Tidus), and he just started to drift away when Yuna wanted him the most? That's just sad. Then when they hold each other in the water, that's another one... so much more though.

    Final Fantasy 13-2 Y'know, I never did like 13, but the sequel itself was awesome. Even if you think it's terrible, how would you like it if you found out after fixing something, the closest thing to your heart - your own blood - is going to not merely die, but won't even exist in the world you're supposed to save? Serah just had some of the strongest resolve out any game character ever, period.

    I'll also mention Xenogears... damn it. Faye and Elhaym were just awesome. I still wish they did better with XenoSaga. ;-;

    Another Square title I'll mention is Star Ocean: Till the End of Time... that really did it for me.
