What is the most powerful moment of any FF title you've played?

Title says it all. What's the most powerful, exciting, shocking, game-changing moment of a Final Fantasy game to you? It can be any of the solo titles or even XI or course XIV!

Mine would hands down be when Cecil became a Paladin in FF IV. After trying to atone for the sins of his past and the stigma of being a Dark Knight, he had failure after failure,(seemingly) lost friends and loved ones, and was betrayed by his closest friend before his trip to Mount Ordeals. Becoming a Paladin set the story in a new direction, and was a pivotal moment for the whole saga. It allowed him to finally shed his doubts, gain confidence in himself and become the leader he needed to be to defeat Golbez and Zemus.

    What's your favorite?

Seriously, I had moist eyes and some in my party were actually crying.

(This was pre nerf of course)

I know this is the most obvious answer ever but it's still the whole Aerith thing from FFVII. Nothing else has come close (yet).

Oh, and there was also reading the Scriptures of Germonique in Final Fantasy Tactics. Sure it was a lot of reading, but it was still game-changing for me.

Another one I would add after seeing your post would be the epilogue of Final Fantasy Tactics, and learning that while Ramza/Alma survived, Olan was burned at the stake for trying to reveal the truth.

LOL I knew someone was gonna go there :P But hey, its a valid response. I read an interview with the designer and the character of aeris was actually designed just to be killed out of the blue in order to portray death as something unexpected and sudden. They really did plan it well as it left us all so emotionally crippled that it still echoes through the years lol

Aeris was overrated anyway. She had it coming.

For me it was the events on the Floating Continent in VI. From Atma Weapon to waitin for Shadow the entire sequence was thrilling.

When I traded in my first 3 black tiger fangs in FFXI. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship that lasted for 2 years.
