    Normals Vs Ex

I really wish the normal dungeons where harder and required things like tank swaps etc. Because as a newer player I had no idea the importance of a tank swap until I walked into Innocence extreme and got blasted. It just feels like besides good ole Hades, none of the content actually needs you to use mechanics unless it's a mechanic that will knock you out the fight like Sophia, Leviathan, Titan, etc.

A tank swap isn't hard. It requires communication and/or understanding though. Both of which is a mixed bag of quantities when you are coupled with people you've never met, which is the Normal difficulty crowd. Heck we have healers who don't even know how to use Esuna running about.

Tank swaps also happen in normal mode 8 man raids, but they were used more often used back in HW. Eden turn 4 has a tank swap mechanic in normal mode. We also have tank swaps rarely in 24 man raid, like in Labyrinth of the Ancients second boss, only the party with the buff can attack - and aggro - the boss and kind of in Orbonne second Boss fight when the MT party gets warped into that portal.

But yeah, they maybe could introduce tank swap mechanics in normal mode trial fights. Ravana has an automatic tank swap, but that's it I guess...

I think the other problem is that people expect you to know to do that? They don't say anything even when you say you're new to whatever it is that you're queued up for.

I just got up to Labyrinth today and the previous alliance raids no one really did mechanics, we just hit boss and it died. That's why I'm saying it feels too easy, I still have no idea what the mechanics are for the previous raids even though I tanked the bosses in them. :|

If it's normal content, not knowing when to do what is perfectly fine your first time. Go in blind. There's nothing wrong with that.

If it's an EX or Savage, you absolutely should know what you're getting into before you go in, unless you are in a pre-made group that is expressly okay with going in blind.

The tank swap mechanic in E4N is technically a thing but pointless because the debuff falls off right before the next buster, making it moot to swap.

You take extra damage with the debuff. Not enough thst you NEED to swap, but its kinda like training wheels for when you will need to swap.

Yep, we used to have such mechanics in Normal mode back in HW (2 expansions ago) and it was fun, and made the fights interesting, or at least a step up from dungeons... but apparently 'Tank swap on 3 stacks' is too much communication / complexity for the average player :/

Normal primals don't require tank swaps but normal raids usually do. For example Exdeath normal and Eden Prime normal have tank busters that apply a vuln debuff on the main tank. Prompting the OT to either shield the other tank with a shield like Intervention or to tank swap.
