100 ping is not difficult. Source: I live in Hawaii. At worst double weaving can be annoying.
Not that I would say no to east coasters having lower latency. I'm going to have 3 digit latency no matter where.

Actually it is location. If you don’t care about ping and being the very best you can be then cool, do you and ignore your excessively high ping. It is there, it’s isn’t a fake ailment that people make up to feel better about themselves. Depending on how your ISP routes you and the number of hops you have to make to get to the west coast’s servers can add lots of input lag. Makes 2 classes unable to perform optimally. Really client side controls is what I’d prefer over server location but doubt that’ll ever happen.I've been playing various types of online games for well over 20 years now from the east coast. Never have I had trouble on a server on the West Coast, Central, Canada, or even in Uk or Germany (used to play on some EU servers in a FPS quite a while back). If shooters work fine, and other MMOs with faster GCDs can work fine. Then the issue you all are having isn't the location.
get a better conenction? using 450mbps here and i never had issues.Agreed I don't bother using rescue because for all I know the guy I'm trying to resuce on my screen is out of the ae already or it takes too long to register anyway and he gets hit. Clipping on double weaves always happens, interrupting spells in pvp is 100% not possible unless I can see into the future since half the cast bar complete on my screen= the spell has already went off. Bio into fester will make it so fester doesn't get bio's bonus because it took too long to apply despite being an instant cast. Could list so many examples.
Back in arr when they were in montreal everything happened when I pressed the button and no one slid and jerked around on my screen.
andits also a godo way to unearth the east coast west coast BS again. we have almost 20 servers to choose from. also just to rub it... during 2.0 the NA servers were on east coast.. but usa had to tamper tantrum over that so SE had to move them to the middle of nowhere in the usa

Actually no, this is false. The datacenter the servers were in was unsustainable, or they'd likely still be there.get a better conenction? using 450mbps here and i never had issues.

There were in SE's Montreal office. They had reached the power limits of the office space, and could no longer add new hardware. The servers were also old, and they also had frequent issues with level3 outages in the areas during the late afternoon hours causing player disruptions.
Since the move to California, these issues have been lessened to the majority of the player base.
If you weren't around before the server move, you probably don't understand just how bad it was. I had more issues connecting to Montreal from Florida than I did connecting to california.
Also, there's a myth out that that faster internet speed means your internet connection is better in every way. This is not accurate. A lot of high speed connections are routed in specific ways to meet that high speed, introducing high latency to certain areas. Isps do not find it worth the cost to route properly, as it would cost them money and it doesnt effect everyone, so why should they bother. This is the issue with 99.9% of the issues people have with lag in xiv.

I've got a 25 Mbps connection, friend of mine has a 450 like you and he has the same problems as me. Another friend of mine has a pitiful 5Mbps download speed and it's the same deal with all 3 of us.

The East Coast servers WERE in Canada, Montreal to be exact. They moved them to Southern California which isn’t near anything other than California itself. I find it ridiculous they don’t factor in the vastness of the continent.

The lag is a huge thing. The ping in this game actually is very sporadic and shoots up constantly. You have to "adjust" to the lag, by doing things ahead of time. If you see an aoe or know one is about to go off you move ahead of time, because if you don't move early the server will think you are still in it, even if you are 20 feet away. That is why if you use your dancer dash, for example, to get out of things you will still get hit unless you time it right because your character will still be in whatever you are dashing out of. You pretty much would have to dash before , or as it goes off to not get hit by whatever you are trying to avoid. Same thing goes with rescue, that can be ultimately useless unless the healer does it early enough. This is why following people with a marker over their head never works, because they don't move on your screen when they actually moved, and you won't have time to follow them and get out of the mechanics.

Hopefully SE will put some servers on the East coast instead of going the BDO route lol which is pretty much giving you a link to Mudfish VPN website.
What kind of backwoods Internet are you all playing with? I honestly never experience lag, and live in Florida. The game runs silky smooth, and to the person saying MCH is unplayable I have no idea what you’re talking about since I main MCH and never have issues. If the game ran as poorly as you all are making it out to be why would anyone play it?

I live in Texas and have about 65m ping to the US servers and 130ms to the EU datacenter where I do most of my playing. Even the 130ms ping is hardly an issue. Now we have a few FC members from Australia with 320ms pings (to the EU datacenter) and they start to have significant issues, but still manage to get thru all the regular content (they don't mess with EX or Savage content).
