I just want to see their damage increased by a reasonable amount to compensate for them not attacking at all when dealing with mechanics. It's a lot more noticeable on fights with a lot of movement.
Perhaps some sort of item could be added in exchange for Grand Company seals or some such and when you use it in a Trust Dungeon it boosts their stats for that run?
I didn't think about it that way, damage buff would be most welcome to compensate their slow script actions!
I was a little surprised by the fact that my trust runs as a tank were actually going faster then my runs as a DPS at least when it came to boss kills.
Is Thancred's DPS just that bad or something?

You all wanted a tutorial for noobs. That's what it looks like.
She actually appears to be locked behind some kind of build up and dump system. She initially spams tier 1 spells, but after a period she will cast tier 4 spells of every element once, and finish it off with Foul, then go back to her tier 1 spells. It'd be interesting to see what the programming behind her spells actually is. She's clearly not a BLM, as they don't get access to Aero/Stone/Water spells, which are clearly from her previous Conjurist kit. She appears to be some kind of hybrid job, and near and far as I can see she's the only one to have adapted a hybrid job, aside from maybe Ryne. The way Y'shtola plays, it appears as though she rotates through the Tier 1 spells a few times to generate a resource, then spends that resource to combo through the Tier 4 spells to activate a proc of Foul.In terms of combat, they're a huge step down actually.
This isn't an issue of AI not being able to be as good as a player. The issue is that the combat AI is intentionally bad. I was studying Y'shtola just now. A lot of cool spells, but she spams low tier attacks. The only time she'll spam Fire IV (her second strongest spell behind Foul) is when she uses Triple Cast. Most of her time is spent casting fire//blizzard/thunderwater/stone/aero. Tier 1 spells.
I understand she's just programmed to work in that fashion, but she's quite unique, so it'd be really interesting to delve into her kit and see how exactly it works.
EDIT: And I guess Alphinaud is kind of a hybrid job, too, as he (or his carbuncle?) gives the DPS a damage buff identical to that of Urianger's AST cards.

My only real complaint about trust AI at the moment is that you can't specify them to kill a certain target first. They always seem to have a favored order of killing and, oddly enough, it seems to be quite different when you're the tank rather than having Thancred tank.
The place I noticed this the most was in Holmister's (Sp?) Switch on the gremlins. I would try my damnest to get those things dead fast as a tank because their slow is annoying as hell. But the first one, the npcs always target last even if I tag it as the first mob. Thancred always tags it as the first mob and the NPCs always kill it first (the very first one you encounter on the way to the second boss). Now the second fight with the pair of the gremlins, they always kill the gremlins first. I just wish there was some more control you could have over them. I don't mind that they don't AoE so much, though an AoE every now and again would be nice to speed things up just a bit but... meh.
"Then what is magic for?" Prince Lir demanded wildly. "What use is wizardry if it cannot save a unicorn?"
Schmendrick did not turn his head. With a touch of sad mockery in his voice, he said, "That's what heroes are for."

Yeah or maybe their AoEs could be unlocked if you level them up. At least then leveling them up gives a bit of reward at the end.I just want to see their damage increased by a reasonable amount to compensate for them not attacking at all when dealing with mechanics. It's a lot more noticeable on fights with a lot of movement.

If you want faster play with people. If you want a single player MMO then this is what you're going to get.
Only problem i have with trusts is the experience leveing process to a bit slow. I really hope they buff it in upcoming patches. I will say that Trusts for me have been wonderful otherwise. I'm enjoying them quite a bit.
All that would change is the animation of their attacks, because their damage is adjusted for runs to take roughly 30 minutes as far as I know. Every trust clear took me about 28-30 minutes when I entered as a BLM.
And now I got curious what happens if I enter as a DPS and do nothing. I should try this for science.
e: I guess it went about as expected. About 30 minutes in just before the second boss room, but I had to go AFK and got kicked out.

Yoshi-P is doing his best and is patching Endwalker. Please wait warmly until it is ready.
If I had issues with playing with others I still wouldn't use this system because it's designed so poorly. It would get me through the story and I would never touch it again. What were they think? There's a difference between not making it the best way to level to promote group content and making it unbearable boring to do. Like it literally kills any kind of fun I was having playing. It's like eating a shit sandwich and wiping your face with used toilet paper. Just do yourself a favor and forget it exists until they nerf their xp if they do which they probably won't and it gets abandoned by them.
