it's not as terrible as you claim. 30-35 mins no queue dungeons that you can afk in whenever you want is very convenient for some people.This doesn't address what happens after you complete the MSQ though. That first thing you said is fine. You can get through the story without a group. Okay. But what about after that? What's the point of the level system, forcing you to do the older dungeons multiple times to be able to do the later dungeons?
What is the value added to the player for this system existing as bad as it does? i.e., why would a player want to do it?
Typically you do dungeons for experience. But this is clearly not a good way to get it.
it's also mechanically more engaging than most FATEs.
some people can also use it to practice playing certain jobs.
