Hey !
I'm seeing many tanks (all ?) pulling with Provoke. It seems the skill generates enmity now...
So it's become legit to pull with Provoke ? Am I dumb ? Or are they just noob tanks, like usual on DF ?

As far as I am aware provoke still only generate +1 over the current highest enmity (0+1=1), but provoke has the advantage of being 25 yalms while tank throw attacks are only 15 yalms. PLD can also pull with Holy Spirit as that also has 25 yalm but that has a cast timer. You probably seeing tanks pull with provoke because of its range.

Yeah, provoke gives some leading in the aggro table. That also makes tank swapping feels more fluid in the rotation since you can delay the shirk for one or 2 GCds if needed.
Still not as powerful as Wow Taunt abilities but I think it was a good change.
EDIT:
I dont know in pull situations but provoke had a minor buff on the aggro leading in 5.0. It is on the patch notes. As far as I am aware provoke still only generate +1 over the current highest enmity (0+1=1), but provoke has the advantage of being 25 yalms while tank throw attacks are only 15 yalms. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...at_is_bonkers/ The new provoke deals pseudo dmg like if you would do 353 k dmg. So yes provoke pulling becomes the norm for some tang if you have the specific party comb we’re you wanna Aline all cds around the 4 cds.
353k ? At every lv ? 'Cause in the Aery, I saw a tank pulling with Provoke, and I took back enmity with just a VerFire. Plus, he provoked at the closest range possible : melee. Useless, if it was for the benefit of the range.
Are you sure it's 353k ? And not only 353 ?
I think it depends on the character lvl . White gremlin is a lvl 71 mob if I remember correctly. So it scales with the lvl so I assume there is fixed number or number steps for each lvl
It can be used this way, but ... why ? Threat management is removed from the game, tank "stance" is just x10 threat multiplier. As long as the tank's brain is capable of ramming down starting combo key, it's impossible to lose threat.
Provoke in current gear is around 41k flat increase of top enmity (so 410k in tank "stance").

provoke is good for quick agro on multiple targets that are split but its not really needed in dungeons or raids for pulling as youll have better mob control placement when you are closer.
its not really needed for tank swaps now either as you can just shirk and drop stance.
its best use now is tank swaps on multiple targets, as the agro in generates is not needed if your in tank stance.
strange awareness of ghosts that no longer haunt this shell.
Even when it only matched you to highest enmity and then 73 enmity more (the additional flat value for any action or buff at level 70), it was still used for pulling distant mobs in order to bring them into reach of your AoE by the time you arrive.
And there's scarcely anything more annoying than a healer telling you it doesn't deal enmity while they spam instant casts on you at the very moment of pull by proximity and then run off with the mobs because you didn't have Voke ready to pull the mobs in sooner into your AoE.
Since 5.0 I've been seeing a lot more tanks put Provoke into their rotation more. Did the changes to Provoke make it viable skill to put into rotation? Did I miss something?
