Lmao, you help make this game and you parse grey. Git gud.To parse or not to parse... this discussion has been flogged to death, revived and then some.
However, I'll say it yet again for the umpteenth time... people who take other players' parses and post them onto third party sites like FFlogs without their permission might want to exhibit extreme caution. I'm still predicting that one of these days in the very near future, one of you will unknowingly parse an SE employee in-game, post their parses online without their consent, and they will unwittingly find it.
The repercussions and carnage that will ensue will be the stuff of legends.

You're forgetting one major thing. That even to an SE employee, their battle data are not their own once they are in game. It belongs to SE as an entity. And they already know about that, Yoshi P knows people parse (and openly said he won't do anything as long as they don't talk about it in game). To parse or not to parse... this discussion has been flogged to death, revived and then some.

Considering the staff watch world firsts’ and they’re all openly parsing on the screen for all to see, I believe you’re completely wrong. And wasn’t calling names was only correcting his signature. He in fact is reporting players that may or may not be parsing when they said nothing about numbers. I’d argue that’s an abuse of the reporting feature. Again, when people lie and put down arguably the best tool for ffxiv progression then they’re not anyone worthwhile in the community. Coming in to a discussion to simply say “I report parsing” does nothing to help the movement either. I am passionate about ffxiv and want only equal playing grounds for all. Parsing would help that.To parse or not to parse... this discussion has been flogged to death, revived and then some.

Your post is filled with so much incoherence that I'll not even bother making a proper response to you.Considering the staff watch world firsts’ and they’re all openly parsing on the screen for all to see, I believe you’re completely wrong. Like I said above... parse and don't parse, that is completely up to the individual and their reasons are unique to each and every one of them. Post your own parse all over the internet, brag about it on every available social media... that's your business. However, taking players' parsing information and then posting it on other sites without their knowledge or permission...?
Perhaps I'm just misinterpreting this extract from the ToS below... I'll embolden the relevant sentences for you:
Square Enix strictly prohibits the use of third-party programs or tools – including programs and tools that permit automated or “absentee” play – in Final Fantasy XIV. Accordingly, the following activities are prohibited:
- Modifying, analysing, integrating, and/or reverse engineering game software or data.
- Creating, distributing, using, or promoting utilities that interact with the game.
- Exploiting Square Enix programming bugs or glitches.
- Automating gameplay processes.
Like I said... perhaps, just perhaps, I'm just interpreting this wrong.

"After ten years, finally headed to Sharlayan... absolutely stoked"

No one needs a players permission to upload their combat information on FFlogs. The data belongs to SE, not the players themselves. I've seen this line of thought posted repeatedly. You own nothing on your account, your character including everything on your account does not belong to you.Your post is filled with so much incoherence that I'll not even bother making a proper response to you.

top tier healer got exposed by parse lol

A method of taking one's own logs on PS4 would help. For those who want to study themselves and improve to begin with, it removes the need to party with a friend on PC. For those who would be driven to improve if given proof (private in this case) that their performance is subpar, it could provide that. It would do a lot to educate the playerbase about what the average and/or minimum passing performance is, how screwups impact performance, and provide those who want even more with log analysis.
A DPS meter alone somewhat impacts point 2 and 3.
It won't make anyone instantly better. Until recently I was exclusively PS4 and didn't consistently have friends who'd log me. But when strangers did, my performance was decent (high blue, low purple usually). I wanted to be a better player to begin with, so I read guides and practiced a lot. I felt only recently that I need the additional push of data analysis to improve further, which is why I'm investing in the game's PC version. So, to toot my own horn, PS4 players can come a long way w/o parsing/logs.
But it wouldn't hurt to have it as an official option for PS4 and PC imo. Data is always useful and there comes a point I feel it's necessary to improve further. As it is now, it's inconvenient for PS4 players to get this data, and risky for PC players to talk about it because of the Terms of Service.

These last few pages are why parses are not allowed too be mentioned in game. Even the most honest intentions can be used to cause harm to others. I am also of the opinion unless your running EX or Savage, parse numbers are just meaning less.
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

All of our dps data is being uploaded and PC players watch their dps like a hawk and upload it. This is fine, I would just like the option to also be able to watch my dps.
I just started doing Eden and ex'es and yep my parse is hot garbage from what some pc players must have logged of my performance.
Please give ps4 players a way to track their dps. Even if it's just our dps that would be fine. I don't care what others are doing really. I'm just trying to improve my own crappy play.
I've passed the stone, sky, sea thing it's not good enough. I practiced on these before I went in to ex. It's not like being in the fights at all because there are no mechanics to dodge.
I know "get a PC". I can't afford one. Yes, I I'm a loser that sucks at life and need to get a job.. this is not an option for me at the moment as I'm a gimp (gimps have a lot of time for mmorpgs)
Moving on. Fflogs is an enormous part of XIV endgame. Accept it and give us the tools to work with it please.
The parse is just tolerated by SE, with a risk of ban if it is used to deny a person in a party with link in the chat.
it was never possible to use a console mod, it does not change and it does not depend on SE, but Sony.
Take for example Skyrim, it was never possible on console, but on PC you can mod to change everything in the game.
If you want to use a parse, go on PC, there will never be a solution to your problem.
