    Perhaps their theme could envelope more than just guns and swords and move into a sort of Judge / Garlean Legatus status with other gadgets like arm blasters (like you mentioned) and super sayian armor mechanics.

    So going from that then basically the Gaius / Nael job~! Probably in the Dragoon armor group, AF being that classic awesome Judge armor .

    I think the Red Mage but not magical example is a pretty good start. Perhaps rather than dashing too far away from the target (close to far like Red Mage) they switch from flank to flank (assuming DD here), unless of course the target is far away in which case they dash towards target. Could make it super functional in that if there is no target then they dash forward like Dancer (such that target up close is flank switching, target far away is dash to position, and no target is just a damage line movement skill). With such a skill positional would flow quite nicely. It could of course go in and out like Red Mage but I was just trying to draw a larger distinction between the two jobs.

    Of course there would have to be a few ranged skills, some oGCD because.. you can't not have that lol. Perhaps even their melee attacks perform ranged variants if you're too far away (that deal less damage), such that the job is always in range but encouraged to be up close (boss running away doesn't stop the job in it's tracks suddenly). Some mechanic could make those ranged "melee" variants strong for a time though, like MCH and their overdrive mechanic.

    Perhaps a sort of battery suit mechanic (thinking about that Golden Gaius scene) that switches between utilizing big damage melee combos and single less often big damage range. Run through your melee combos, charge up, slice and dice with some big visual effects and then fire off your nuclear wrist band thing lol.

    A bit wild but may be able to introduce magitek /mechs/ into the job... Gaius it up for a bit in your baby mech XD. Get that magitek combat mentioned way back in like early early 2.0 days. Not simply just the mount we've experienced in MSQ ofc, this one would actually have some rotation/play mechanics .

    So I guess if I was painting with huge brush strokes (which I guess I am), I'm feeling/hearing physical non-magical high tech based Red Mage, Tychus-like (not for the chain gun lol, for the semi-ranged, dashing, gadget hero from Heroes of the Storm), and Dragoon sort of combat.

    Could be fun but of course it'd need a different name though as you don't want the job to sound like it's basically another job "it's gunbreaker but with range" is probably not the killer pitch for the office lol.

    Pretty much all the jobs I wanted to see from other FF games are in the game now so at this point it's just like "do cool stuff" haha. Blue Mage is in, though for another thread I'd have maybe some comments lol. Morpher being the other I suppose from another FF game, but not sure I count it too much because I'd like them to make it not limited and so I'd love to see their own creation of the job (probably not called morpher too then). So my wish list "I want to transform into other shapes/forms/styles" and. . "do cool things". Hype lol .
