This is probably one of the most common requests but I figure the more people bring it up hopefully it will be escalated in priorities for changes to be made in game. The current housing system really needs to change, at the moment all you can do to attempt to get a house is stand at the house, click 3 buttons over and over, and watch as an invisible timer ticks off and your hopes are dashed as your chat box is filled with the message "This plot of land is not yet ready for purchase."

The first big suggestion for this would be to make the houses an auction instead of having an invisible timer. Gil is actually pretty easy to earn in this game, especially if you run your roulettes daily or have something specific you gather that sells well alongside sending retainers out for ventures, so I don't feel like an auction would be unfair.

Second, limit the number of houses a Free Company can have given FCs are abusing that system by hoarding houses and trying to sell them for prices that are ridiculous even by FFXIV's standards.

Of course, add more servers and plots to each area when this system is released so people can actually test it out and get houses of their own.

Maybe having in game alerts that people could set up when an auction is about to start would be a great feature too but that's more of a side thing.

All in all, FFXIV has grown massively in its player base and the current housing system is an ancient relic that seriously needs to be retired.
