Queue penalty for waiting for DDOS'd party

Since I genuinely cannot find a place on the forums that lets me put feedback on the game anywhere, only the companion app, etc, I guess the GM I talked to expects me to post here.

Earlier, we had the DDOS attacks. Everyone in my party DC'd but I was fortunate enough not to. I waited for around 50 minutes for them to reconnect, only for the game to kick me for inactivity. Because of this, I got a 30 minute queue penalty, leaving me waiting for even longer to finally be able to play. Apparently GMs also can't remove said queue penalties. This is incredibly frustrating and wasted a huge chunk of my time. My entire party was offline, I sat and waited for them, then got penalised for waiting for them.

it's because you were the first person to leave the full party. the rule that is set is that if you are the first person to leave the party (even if everyone else is offline - they are still technically part of the party) you get the penalty. that cannot be changed. system working as intended.
what you should have done - and i don't know if it would work if you were the only one left is that you should have tried to vote kick someone for being offline or vote abandon.

I don't think the OP cares about being told "well the system was implemented this way, working as intended" because they probably know that, but they're complaining that the current implementation is bad. It's probably low on SE's list of things to fix, but it makes a lot of sense to not penalize someone for leaving a group when half or more of it's offline.

next time "vote abandon". Since you are the only member the duty will be canceled.

If you are a healer you could kick the others after some waiting and pug other people, but since the connection was bad the best action was to give up doing duties for a while.

If you're the only person online, you can do anything without voting. So you could've kicked someone and withdrew, or abandoned the dungeon for everyone.

You're also free to kick without a vote if there's only one other person online in your duty. So if that undergeared tank caused a group to collapse, feel free to take out the trash.

Especially useful in forcing a bad trial closed so the df replacements aren't wasted.

he did the wrong thing. he just straight up left a duty without doing the correct thing to avoid the penalty. system is working as intended.

An issue having a workaround doesn't mean it's not an issue. If he's the only person left in the duty, there's no reason why he should be penalized because he chose to leave the duty through one button instead of another.

Of course it's working as intended. There's plenty of things that work as intended but are bad ideas for one reason or another.

It's not a "workaround" when it is something explicitly designed for a purpose. OP goofed. Now he knows.
