Great Housing Idea

I would like to help build a giant aether void in Ishgard, so we can get some sweet Wild Star instance housing lol. Or a place in Hydaelyn's bosom (like in our cutscenes as we fly around, a pocket space given by Mother Crystal). A place that begins like the end of time in Chrono Trigger but then you upgrade it by infusing it with aether, creating land and structures like a certain someone created a certain area in an expansion (except on a smaller scale). A zone to practice creation magic.

Imagine being able to create your own zone, chocobo farm, airship, floating islands, under the sea, Azim Steppe house, Ishgardian Estate, Ul'dah Syndicate Riser. . . Wild Star system with FFXIV graphics and themes would be the best housing system to exist in an MMORPG . . >.>!

That said I'd take instanced Ishgardian suites over nothing :P, that'd still be pretty cool.

The question will probably just be skipped over. If not, then either way it would just be a waste of a question. Ishgard restoration is something that's already in the works. They're not going to suddenly add on something to it. Even if they took it into consideration, we probably wouldn't see it for years.

I'm all for instanced housing, but I think Ishgard's rebuilding is coming far too soon unless something like this is already in the works.

Well, if its not in the works at the moment, they could always add to it. That'd be part of the beauty of your house being instanced. It could be added behind any unused portculis or locked behind a guard npc at any time in development. And, though the suggestion says something about the restoration leading to it, unlocking it could also just be added as a housing-related quest, with an "Ishgard Restoration @ x% completion" prerequisite, in a later patch. It doesn't have to be included in 5.1 (or whenever the Ishgard Restoration stuff is happening).

If I got a house with a place for outdoor furnishings (and maybe a nice view) at the end of it, I'd tank Nidhogg naked while dancing the Popoto. Crafting or buying stuff to turn in for upgrades ain't nothin. In fact, I actually like that and it sounds fun.

Really just a random thought that had come to mind. As it stands atm players getting the funds to buy a plot of land for a house in a housing area is fairly easy for far more people than we have plots and it will likely stay that way even with a new zone opening unless they suddenly triple the amount of wards in each area. However it may make some pause atleast a moment if they actually had to build their house on the plot of land rather than just plop one on there like the current zones.

I agree, it might. But even then, the real problem with housing imo is the lack of supply at the moment. Instancing could solve that and then housing could act as the gil sink its intended as, since ppl will actually have the opportunity to spend money on it instead of just look at filled neighborhoods all day and dream. And I'm serious about liking the crafting aspect you brought up. I don't necessarily think the instanced plot should be free and simply a quest reward, nor the house on it. My main issue right now is that getting a house has almost nothing to do with working for it. If saving a couple million gil and leveling a crafter for my own house is all I'd have to do for it, I'll do it gladly. lol I sincerely love those kind of upgradable building/settlement type things. Which is why I am sure I'll love the Ishgard rebuild stuff in the first place. Its just also a great opportunity to add a solve for the housing shortage, imo.
