Class Companion

Dear Awesome person,

So I've come to noticed there are quite a few side characters that would accompany you on your class quests and you develop a relationship with them though your questing with them like Arya the Red Mage, or the Paladin Constaint.

I think they should Implement a companion system not unlike the battle Chocobo, where you would need to unlock them though your class quest. So like when you level up a lets say White mage you could call upon the Paladin Constaint or to assist you as you level your white mage.

I think it would be extremely popular as it is in Skyrim, also it would give another reason to play ridiculous amounts of time unlocking your other classes. Another note many mog station items would open up to various costumes you could add to your companion

FFXIV had something like that back in it's original 1.0 version called a 'Path Companion', who would accompany you on certain main story battles and even had dialogue in cutscenes (the story was they were basically a partner assigned to you by Minfilia when you joined the Scions' predecessor organization she ran before the Calamity called the Path of the Twelve, and thus like your character also possessed the Echo and so could meet with Primals alongside you, they were also from Ala Mhigo originally too and so had ties to the Ala Mhigan Resistance).

Unfortunately though they were abandoned when 1.0's story was repurposed to lead into ARR, and was completely replaced by the Chocobo Companion in ARR. And given we now have certain alternatives in the form of the Grand Company Squadrons and now the Trusts, I don't think they will ever return, as much as I would love to have my old Path Companion Imarah back, sadly I think she's gone forever.

Given the improvements for AI, I'd love a retainer companion. Or, so as not to outright replace players, give them the same intelligence as Esteem or FATE NPCs. I'd like to do more with my retainers than use them as actual furniture.

I want to have another type of companion as well. The retainers or the Squadron would be awesome instead of my old Chocobo.
