Abuse of the TOS. Loophole regarding griefing/trolling. Needs a solution.

If you're concerned about a "lack of evidence" have one or two of the other members also file a report. Rather you were in a dungeon, gathering, crafting or RPing they were affecting your game play plain and simple. It's not a waste of GM resources.

From what I know quicksand seems to be famously ( or infamously?) well known. So sadly you gotta kinda deal with the BS as it comes. Were it me I would prefer to find taverns and the like to RP at in the housing districts. Do you guys have events or venues. For example in wildstar and EQ2 folks build and ran their own taverns. Open nightly.

For your next course of action, If you did not file a report Then if it were me I wouldn't. But for sure do it the next time that happens.

No, that actually is stalking. Once it moves to private property it becomes tresspassing and/or breaking and entering.



If some people have the RP tag on, they are RPing. Just let them get on with it.

It is true harassment. It has continued. This isn't the first time. I've been followed by literally eight players who plan this stuff when I'm trying to write with someone else. There is no band, they're doing it on purpose. The GMs can't take action because it's a form of harassment that can't be reported. That's the issue. It's a loophole. A work-around to bother other players while going unpunished. That's why I made the thread. This is a new form of harassment I've seen start to occur since trolls realize they can get away with it, mind you I haven't been the only one who has had to deal with this one bit.

To me, a public place is a public place. Whether it be in a video game, or real life. If you're having a midnight dinner with your husband at a Restaurant--and ten strangers dressed as clowns surround your table then start to dance and wave around flashlights, would you not be annoyed? Even more so if they refused to move because it's "a public space"? It would be irritating, you wouldn't want them there. Even worse if they refuse to leave. It'd be harassment. Normal people do not get that close to other people like that. It's malicious because they know you don't want them there. You told them so.

I consider them both public places but I don't see them as equivalent public places. there are social norms for both but there are different norms and different punishments enforced. "Yes it's irritating in game, but these people can't cause physical harm like in restaurant", is just one example. Unless they are consistently stalking you and making the game miserable, I wouldnt expect Square to do anything about this.

Personally when I run into "annoying" players (i have my own definition) I always see what I can do first before considering what Square needs to do to prevent this. I will mute performance, turn off player effects, lower other players voices, blacklist, and eventually, just leave the area. I've been playing since 2.55 and it's never really been an issue to just make small adjustments for the outlier trolls/annoying people.

A shame really, how even in 2000+19 people don't know how RP works. Dante's Inferno was just a self insert fanfic and no one calls it out as such. RP is co-op writing where people play a role. It happens all the time in, ya know, theater. :eyeroll:

What happened to the OP is reportable, the effectiveness however is muddy and that sucks. I reported someone who actually followed my friend and I outside the zone, chased us across N. Thanalan, spammed emotes and never got a suspension. Said person was openly toxic in /shout and I mean this with no fragility. I mean actually insulting people by name with slurs. Still nada. I know GMs cant tell us what happens to a person, but it feels like its useless when we don't know what's going on.

Theater is scripted, roleplaying is improvisation. You act like you think your character would act based on their background, experiences, beliefs, alignment etc. Actors in theater have no freedom, maybe they even disagree with the way the character they play is reacting, but they are not allowed to change anything about it.

As to people shouting slurrs... is it ok? Of course not. But it's some basement dwelling imbecile, who gives a fk? I feel like I'm not "internetting" right when I don't get at least 3 people per day sending me death threats. Sometimes I ask them if they need a hug lol. The one big mistake to make is taking anything that happens in the internet seriously. But then again my thik skin was forged during the timeswhen Modern Warfare 2 Lobbies existed. They turned fragile boys into hardened men I tell you ^^
