Crossover events and breaking immersion

Immersion was broken ages ago. I'd say the single biggest offender was the Adamantoise mount. It's just gotten worse since then, but after that, nothing else mattered.

Seriously though, as much as I detest the non-FF/Square related crossovers, that airship has well and truly sailed now and SE will still add them regardless (because they are popular with the general player population), so I guess, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. If it brings enjoyment to the game (and importantly, more players), then that is only a good thing.

And besides, no one is forcing you to do the crossover events, they're entirelly optional (hence why I never did the Yo-kai Watch, Monster Hunter or GARO events), so if you don't like them, don't do them, and ignore other players buzzing around Eorzea in a supermarket children's ride mount or a robotic horse. It's all personal choice.
