Question about Eden Gear for MCH

Ok, I'm relatively new to this game and only recently hit endgame for the first time so I don't really know how the optimization of classes works, but from what I have read about MCH through guides for 5.0, Skill Speed is to be avoided "like the plague" as one guide put it.

However, much of the gear from the new Eden raid for ranged DPS has a bunch of skill speed. Would it be better to keep 440 ilvl gear that has crit/dh/det and wait to upgrade until better gear from savage raids is released, or use the 450 gear with skill speed even though skill speed is a dps loss for MCH?

I've been wondering this same thing, but reading conversations about it in The Balance discord it seems like there are specific breakpoints that work for MCH and sks without the rotation going funky.

With zero sks, you have a 2.5 sec GCD. Obviously there's going to be some on the gear, so you want to ideally get to 2.38 GCD which is somewhere like 1523 sks. Hope that helps.
