JSE is useless. Let's make it useful.

So with the game expanding recently and adding a whole new set of JSE (job specific equipment) the current amount we have is practically useless outside of glamour, and even that is limited. 400 slots in glamour dresser adds up quick, and since all the JSE gear is useless in x.1 practically it gets relegated to glamour equipment in no time, all that work on the artists and modelers for 2-5 months of usefulness. Why not allow us to put that gear in the Armoire? gives us access to it for glamour since its stats quickly become obsolete and allows us to get it out of our retainers (for those that like holding all the glamour possibilities). The level 45-50 variant is already store-able from the ARR days within the Armoire and i see no difference between that armor and the new armor other than the looks and the stats, so why not allow it all?

because you can just buy the other sets, the originals were burried treasures.

Exactly, the original AF1 set is quested only and originally had no other way of attaining (yes you can now regain it at the Calamity Salvager, but when ARR was released that was not the case). All the other AF sets can be gained through tomestones or similar currency, so SE's idea is that if you really have no space left for the later sets you're meant to basically throw it away and just buy a new set when you desire.

Incidentally, the reason why the armorie in general is so limited is because it is not extra storage space at all - it actually works by completely deleting that piece of gear from your inventory, but flagging it to be restored when you wish to 'retrieve' it from the armorie (that is why any customization made to said gear like FC crests or dye disappears when it's retrieved and it's Spiritbond is reset to zero). The more items they stick in this database the greater the chance a bug may appear that could corrupt the whole thing, and SE really do not want to have to deal with potential iriate players who lose their elite BiS gear due to a bug. So they limit it a handful of special items that are otherwise unattainable in any other way. It's the price that has to be paid.

To be fair, the JSE were worthless right out the gate and never had months of worth. They were merely a bridge to get you through the last dungeon and allow you to grind out those tomestones for the real 5.0 gear. They are really no better than lvl 80 dungeon drops which are nothing but temp bridge gear and glamour. Heck they don't even have the same use or last as long as Ravel gear, which will last you at least 2 levels worth of dungeon grinding.

Plus they need to give us something that looks flashy in the new expac promos. Could you imagine having to look at brds, mcns and dncs all in one set and smns, blms and rdms all in one set and so on. Them promos would be boring and not create the hype that job sets do.

I personally think they should be harder to achieve and BiS for at least 1 cycle. Or at least be upgradable to BiS with Coil/Alex/Omega/Eden drops instead of getting whole new sets. Would ease the gear design crunch too and maybe they could come up with something better than what they give us now, like the constant cycle of dresses for mages.

At this point with so many classes, I would love to just have a basic role set while unlocking job based glamours available on a vendor (ex: mr hermit smith) when reaching a particular milestone (lvl 50/60/70/80/etc). I'd also like the job based glamour to at the very least apply to role attire so swapping jobs that share gear while outside of town doesn't result in glam issues.
