Samurai never needed back-to-back casting in Stormblood to play differently from other melees and it surely doesn't need it now. People really will support skills that feel terrible to use just for the sake of "uniqueness", which makes me wonder if, had "homogenisation" been the bogeyman back in A Realm Reborn like it is now, some people would've opposed fixing the animation locks on dragoon's Jump.
