Unable to locate character configuration

Hello,

yesterday I cut out my screenshots folder because my PC was full(sadly "My Games" folder is saved on my SSD where my Windows is saved instead of my HDD with more space).

I wanted to log into my account and I had to redo all my configuration(graphics, sounds etc) and had to choose a Data Center. Now I wanted to log in but it says "unable to locate character configuration".
I read some thread which was talking about a Anti-Virus program but I think for me it's the issue with the screenshot folder.

Do I have to reinstall my game again or can I do something else? Sorry I am not good with software and I really don't know what to do.
I would be really happy for help and solutions!

I am able to play the game, I redid my interface and overall configurations. Screenshots do work and they are saved in the new folder I assigned.

But my questions is: should I reinstall FFXIV? Or will it work like that?

From what you've described, it sounds like the folder that has all of your locally-saved data was changed or removed. This folder is separate from the install folder. If you have reset your settings, then you don't need to reinstall anything.
