Controller losing connection peridocially

Now, I know this topic has been mentioned before and Ive read the other threads regarding this issue and have found a workaround solution but I feel as though I shouldn't have to disable "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator" to get my controller to function properly. Also the threads I read are from 2014 and there's still not a real fix for this?

After just re-subbing for the latest expansion, this issue has made my experience irritable, especially when fighting any raid boss. Losing the ability to properly control my character at a critical moment in raid is very bothersome.

Any help or information regarding a different/actual fix will be greatly appreciated.

The primary cause of this issue seems to be related to Device Enumerator refreshing while playing the game. Normally, this will only refresh when a USB device is removed or plugged in. If this is happening without you intentionally doing one of those actions, then something else is causing this to refresh. Try removing any USB device that is not your mouse/keyboard and your controller.

I'm also experiencing this bug since shadowbrings has launched, and so has my raid cotank, never used to get this in stormblood and nothings changed about my set up.

I think i got the same problem, really funny if you are in a raid fight and you are walking towards the edge when this bug happens

It wakes you right up.
wonder if a bluetooth dongle for the controller would help?

The only thing I have plugged into my PC is my Mouse/Keyboard, Headset, and controller so I think that rules that out. Also disabling Device Enumerator got rid of my DLNA devices but while im playing my DLNA devices are off so I don't know how it could be that. Some more help will be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar issue years ago. A Windows background process was stealing focus, despite the game appearing to still be front and center in full screen. There's an option (System Config > Controller I think) that says something about using the controller when the game is inactive, check that box.

Interestingly enough I always have to recheck that option upon every game restart, for some reason that's the only setting that doesn't save for me. Again, I have that option checked when the issue occurs so that's not a fix, at least for me. So far the only fix is to disable the Device Enumerator, but as I said, one shouldn't have to disable windows services to get a game to function correctly. And since SE is aware of the issue, one would think after four years they'd have a solution.

I'm using a Nintendo Switch pro controller and it works like a charm 95% of the time.
Although on some days it disconnects for a few seconds (I hear the 'you unplugged something' noise coming from my PC, although I didn't?)
And on other days it stays connected the whole time I play so it seems to be... random?
I haven't found a solution for my problem and I don't think it's Pro controller related; I triple checked all steps and Steam is not the issue either.
Since I'm curious, where can I find / disable this device enumerator? I might disable it if I can't find a different solution.

I use a Logitech F310 controller. Up until last week I had no issues what so ever... Now, my controller doesn't work at all... I have tried every hack and fix I can come up with and find with Google-foo and nothing has worked... I know this has to be a square-enix issue because I can get on any other games (such as ESO) and my controller works great! But my game of choice is FFXIV, so please help so I can get back to gaming! Thanks!
