    Lack of acknowledgement of the GNB SFX problem is alarming

    I'm very worried that based on the complete silence from the dev and community teams regarding the ongoing issue, that they're just waiting for the negative talk surrounding the GNB sound effect changes to die down so that they can sweep it under the rug and pretend like there's no more problems.

    The fact of the matter is, regardless of how people feel about the adjustment to the cartridge ability sound effects being good or bad, almost everyone agrees that the Solid Barrel combo and Demon Slaughter combo feel awful without their slashing sounds, and without the actual trigger pull and fire sound effect on Solid Barrel itself. Looking back, we can see that there was a vocal minority dissatisfied with the cartridge combo and had voiced their want for something a little more substantial, but as far as I've been able to see, NO ONE asked for SFX changes to their standard combo abilities. At the very least, if nothing else, I think most of us would agree that this change should be reverted.

    Devs, community team, regardless of if you're evaluating feedback on this and considering a change, or your stance is these changes are here to stay, please at least let know where you stand so that we can make decisions about if we're going to continue playing Gunbreaker or not before we get too invested into the patch cycle with a job that our enjoyment of has been seriously hampered by this change. I'd personally go back to Warrior if not, but if a change is coming at some point, I'll continue on in faith that they'll do right by us and give us something higher quality.

    Well considering PLD Holy Spirit still sounds like a Scooby Doo episode and the Block sound effect reminds me of my daughter's toy choo-choo train, I think the new GNB sounds are probably a low priority.

    probably they are going to implement changes next week with the adition of savage so thats why they didn't say nothing, but compared to adresing DRK problems in SB this actually is nothing yet.

    Contact with devs was always problematic. They have very tight schedule, so i bet they will fix it in next patch. I hope fully revert it. 5.0 sounds were absolutely fine, and nothing, absolutely nothing needed any changes.
    Remember to send them suggestions via in game menu. Don't let them forget about it.

    I'm also going to say again that everything sounds worse now. Some people say that explosive combo sounds better, but it's illusion. It's just louder. Old explosions were more silent but very good sounding and distinct. New ones are just loud and bland.
    Just revert it and problem solved.

    To reiterate what I've said in the other threads about this, I share the same feelings as the OP. I could live with the changes to the cartridge spenders (even though I think the explosions are all a little loud now), but the sounds of the Solid Barrel combo just take a lot of the fun and style out of the class for me. The original sounds, with the metal 'clinking' and the trigger/gunshot at the end were extremely satisfying and fit with the fantasy of the job. They honestly played a large part in why I found the job interesting in the first place, and I don't think I'm alone saying that. The were distinct and just felt right. I have continued to level GNB on the side with the hope that a reversion is coming soon, but I might end up dropping it entirely if the sounds are here to stay.

    That being said, to the folks saying that changing the sounds is a low priority compared to other bigger class issues, I actually agree with you. However, it seems that SE doesn't feel the same way because they already made sweeping changes to the sound effects after only 2 weeks of feedback. I've seen posts from people who didn't even have a chance to play the job prior to them changing the sounds, and these people also commented that they felt the original ones were better. Some people might see the job actions trailer, think it sounds cool, then find out that it doesn't match anymore. It's so confusing to me that someone at SE thought this was such a huge priority to adjust right away.

    I'm concerned too tbh, I still have faith they'll change them but I'm worried with how many people are saying "but this part sounds fine" they're just gonna leave it all. I don't think any of it sounds fine tbh, I hate every one of the new action sounds and how I can't hear my own skills in raids anymore. What worries me more is that if this doesn't change, this is what sets the path for future skills in later expansions.... We'll just have more OVERLY LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS explosion sounds over slashes. Just... please give us back the original SFX, no one asked for these changes and the people who did were such a minority that it shouldn't even have been worth developer time to make these dumb changes.

    Considering I don't think I saw them say a single thing about the SFX before making the change, why would you expect anything afterwards if they plan to revert it?

    I'm praying that they at least revert the sound effects. The old ones were quite nice and identifiable with a gunblade. The new ones, however... it's killed the audio for this job. I REALLY want to keep playing gunbreaker, but these sound effects don't make me want to. Heck, Verry Merri hates these changes, and I saw a meme that he shared about the new sounds being comparable to pool noodles, which I'd have to agree strongly on.

    Please, PLEASE, just revert the changes if that's what it takes. At least give us back the old Keen Edge combo sfx.

    We shouldn't accept that. With 5.01 explosive combo and 5.0 main combo using explosive combo will feel like punishment.

    This. I'm afraid they will start listening to vocal minorities who try to push weird changes. Not everything has to sound like cheap action game. Keep in mind it has to sound good in every possible environment. 5.0 sounds were doing it perfectly. If you didn't like them, too bad for you. Now don't ruin the job for others.

    500 other things to do and handle but yeah let them make changing the sound a second time a priority and push things that actually affect gameplay to the side such as the lag input for faerie heals, people moved far out of telegraphs in time yet still getting hit possibly darkening either the flooring or the telegraphing in a certain dungeoun so Everyone can see it. let them just put it on thier list of things to fix about gunbreaker from the whinging.

    1.Change the Sound AGAIN.
    2.Change up the attack effects and stances so people can continue thier Squall fantasies
    3.Change up all the cooldowns.
    4.name them after Squalls Limit Breaks.
    5.Make the gunblades bigger.
    6.Falcon Punch thier computers while contemplating utterly deleting the class because no matter what there will be another complaint or whine or request because something superficial needs tweaked again.

    Meanwhile the other things that need actual fixing will continue to sit in that pile because flavor of the expansion needs to meet every superficial demand. because you know its 2019 and how dare they not take a moment from going over that checklist and work to respond the critical issue of a sound change.
