Longstanding saga of my issues with obtaining Shadowbringers Pre-order items

To show that I did indeed pre-order the expansion through the PS Store.

Anyways; I'm writing this because I've had nothing but problems, in particular obtaining my pre-order items that come with it (minion and aetheryte earrings). I think it might have to do with the fact that I haven't played the game after pre-ordering ShB till the expansion became playable, so about late June. I deactivated my account, restored my licenses, and re-activated on Sony's advice, and it did restore my collector's edition, but no such luck on pre-order items. So on Sony's advice, I contacted Square, and they explained to me that since I pre-ordered it off the store, it should be automatically attached to my account; so I should clean up my mailbox (Which I did), and if that doesn't work, I should contact a game master. Which is what I did 3 days ago, still waiting for a response.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? I have experienced nothing but frustration in troubleshooting this issue.

For the Pre-Order, you needed to manually activate the Pre-Order Key they sent you via Mail on an Website, which generated your normal key which you then needed to activate in your Mogry Station.

I have NO Idea why SE is still using License Activation Systems from the early 00 years, but it's ridiculous.

I've heard that when you pre-ordered SHB through the PS4 it was added automatically. Those that pre-ordered through the PC had to activate their key through the steps you've stated above. I'm not 100% sure on this though, as I said, it's what I've heard.

PS4 should be immediately....I received mine the only thing I had to wait for was the dynamic theme which was tied to the games launch

I was not aware - But that's just another point towards "WHY SE?"

It's what SE told me when I asked their customer support, so you are definitely right. I think why I got hosed, as I said above, is that I haven't touched the game after I pre-ordered it till shadowbringers became playable; so it might have been some sort of registration glitch.

Okay, so, I checked my services list on my PS account (on the PS4) and sure enough, I do see "SHADOWBRINGERS PRE-ORDER BONUS ITEM" being registered on FFXIV. Seems that according to a fellow FC member, if that is the case, and restarting the game didn't work, then something likely went wrong on Sony's end. I am really not sure if that is the case; but I am beyond the end of my rope, since I already contacted Sony bout this, and they told me to contact Square since they said that as publisher, it is their responsibility (due to them sending the email).

I think this is your problem. When my partner pre-ordered the game on the PS4 in March the next time she logged in she was greeted by a screen asking which SE service account she wanted to apply the pre-order incentives to (despite only having one service account). If you didn't log in until Shadowbringers came out then you likely didn't get this message and thus the "code" was never applied to your service account.
