Ironically, the MSQ accidentally gives us a lore possibility for it. I'll put it in Spoilers just in case, but:
Basically, we eventually learn that a Talos is essentially a pile of rocks being animated via strategically placed aether infused 'control' crystals and a similar Core. It could be argued that since we learn how to summon Queen while on the first, it stands to reason that our involvement in the creation of the Talos during the 79 dungeon quest gave us the inspiration to do something similar.
If rocks can be animated into a functional human form, why not steel? That lunchbox we carry around can store all manner of parts. Its not impossible to think that we're storing collapsible preformed parts (like we used with Turrets) in that lunchbox and summoning Queen merely involves throwing out the parts and "connecting" our aether to it to power it.
