FYI, that doesn't actually work, even in 5.0.

Example: I had a fairly rude (and incompetent) WHM when I was running my wife through the normal Eden raids (she's completely new to raiding in this game, and fairly new to the game overall). They said nasty things, I showed her how to blacklist them after they berated her in E1, and did so myself for good measure.

Guess who my cohealer was for E2? (That's right, the same WHM.)

Really? The increase in healer in needs can be explained away with the addition of new dps and tank jobs without a new healer job, but I think it's far too early to say that the 5.0 changes are helping. Especially when you consider the amount of discontent expressed in the healer forums, and polls like this one: https://i.redd.it/m7yo4tdrmp831.png (which is the only 5.0 job satisfaction survey I'm aware of.)

/s means he was being sarcastic.

Everybody (except for certain WHM players) knows that healers are in a pretty bad spot right now. Some of us are just hopeful they'll fix it in 5.05 (like they did when they messed us up in 4.0 and fixed it by 4.05).

I did not know that. Thanks I did wonder what the random s meant. After having been told that I shouldn't complain about what they did to us (as SCHs in particular) because it mostly affected our dps kit and "you're a healer" I was feeling a little defensive of my former and hopefully future favourite job. I'm still hopeful for a fix, too. For both SCH and AST.

This is one of them control issues again. One player wants more control over what others do, so he or she insists the other player(s) be punished for the thing he or she doesn't like. If they were there for the exp, then they earned that exp. You could've made any other manner of suggestions. Like, only receiving exp at the end of the dungeon, but nah, you jumped straight to some form of harsher punishment.

    Reevaluate yourself, please.

If a player exits a dungeon or trial without a vote abandon or clear or lockout, they should lose all XP and items gained.
No. There is already a 30 minute lockout penalty and they don't need to be adding more. Deal with it.

Healing is just awkward right now. All the healers feel like they got rushed out the door and had certain mechanics implemented and skipped over instead of getting a final balancing patch.

Leveling scholar is basically me spending half the time waiting for Aetherflow to come back up so I can excog and 2x lustrate the tank before they crater, because oh god I'm not a white mage.

(Or, if it's not alright for a healer to do it, it's not alright for a dps t do it, despite the relative lack of consequence).

As Pimmony said, you can blame the devs for making healers rare. If they'd added a new healer there would probably be more healers queuing to try it out. If they made healing more fun more people might stick to it. Don't put more burden on healers when there are already few enough people who want to do it.
It's not a matter of who's time is more valuable. It's the fact that someone ditched the group after getting what they want. If "something more important" was really that important, you wouldn't wait until after you get what you want from the dungeon run, you would leave immediately.

But if we want to start weighing value of time... 1 person's time is less valuable than the 3/7/23 people's time you're ditching.

Some of you are acting like healers are rare. They're not.

DPS queues are 5-10 minutes right now. Compared to 10-20 minutes before the expansion. This means healers are more common now than Stormblood. Its just that tanks are even more common comparatively due to the new class and changes to tanking.

Like I said earlier in this thread, the healers can be replaced quickly, like not in minutes, but Seconds. That makes this thread a nontroversy. If it took so long to get a healer replacement that the dungeon risked failure for timeout, we'd have an issue here. But that has never happened since even 1.0

So let it go. There's just not an issue here. Just a petty desire to want to control what people are doing because of some trumped up offense to someone's ego that someone decided they didn't wish to group with them anymore for whatever reason.

People leave because once they level out of the the current X9 dungeon there is nothing much there of value anymore. They could add a small amount of max level tomes to the end bosses of the current X9 dungeon that shifts as the level cap increases (this time the 79 one) for players who are max level.

Removing their stuff is just going to make them disconnect and penalizing players who disconnect will also catch some legit players.

Seen it happen a bunch in Abania during SB and it has nothing to do with role. One time I've seen 2 people leave, the one who leveled and their friend.
