Auto Healing ?

can someone help me out with something I saw today,

while I was in a main city I was switching between different jobs and as you do this your hp obviously changes, as I was doing this an afk player was healing my missing hp, but it was as if it was automatically doing it because of my missing hp, can anyone explain how he was doing this when he was afk, I can only think that he was using a 3rd party programme like a bot or was it a type of macro ?

There's no way to force that to stay when you're giving game input, so if the icon was there and stayed there, that was definitely a bot. Didn't know there were literal healbots out there, though...

yea the afk icon was there, and as soon I had hp missing his character would start to cast a healing spell and heal me, like it detected my missing hp and just healed it

That's kind of fascinating. I've occasionally had my HP healed when job changing but I assumed it was just someone trying to be nice. But I didn't bother to check who was casting - now I wonder.

Anyways, it's a kind of telltale sign of bots in general - if they're out moving about (and not just like, auto-running into a wall...), or doing things that definitely require game input, but they also have the AFK icon up - that's about some of the strongest evidence it's a bot. Even like... if you have a gaming keyboard and use a macro function of said keyboard, it doesn't do that.

Fairy will only auto heal party members, but if I recall correctly you can order embrace to be used on non-party.

...but with, you know, the big pet overhaul, it's possible all this has changed, I haven't tested recently.

yeah I investigated this one day when people were discussing third party tools. there is a bot thing that auto heals any characters in close proximity with missing HP. if a random person in a city heals you immediately on job switch it's probably that. their status remaining afk while using actions seems to be evidence that something unnatural is going on there.

Not anymore.

You can't control Embrace at all thanks to the big pet revamp (while you mentioned the pet revamp, just clarifying). Also most of SCH's pet-control buttons are still there but don't do anything.

Fairies now automatically cast Embrace on anyone below 100% hp instead of 80% or whatever the old threshold was.
