But pure aether is still aether right? While he stated that there is no trace of aether left. We also learned that time works different in the void. So maybe for them the flood has not happened that long ago. We do also know that there is a hierarchy and that these void sents come to other worlds to eat the aether and that also fight among themselves to get the aether of each other.

So taking his words into account and that we learned that time runs different between shards and especially in the void, I would assume that its true that there is no aether left thus I just see no way right now to save that shard. Because if all that is needed is a darkness aspected Eden then why did the Ascians never use that? These beings that lived for thousands of years and have three originals among them? Seeing how they saw it as a mistake and maybe even a limitation on Zodiark, I would say that they have already tried everything they could do change that.

Where all the aether of the 13th went?

It's stated several time that life is made of aether so, since there's lifeforms in the void it means there's a least their aether. Is there a single lifeform hoarding all of it? Have it leaked out somewhere else? if so where?

Presumably, all the "aether" in the 13th Shard/Void is contained in "living" beings. We do already know that the people of the 13th Shard played around a lot with Auracite of some kind and that this ultimately corrupted them and lead to the Flood of Darkness. One of the big things we see Auracite doing in general (and regardless of type of Auracite) is being really good at absorbing aether.

The thing is... "living" beings in FFXIV are made out of aether physically, the same as anything else. And we know the Voidsent aren't physical in nature. Not really anyway. Anytime we see Voidsent on the Source, it is not as they are in the Void. The Voidsent on the Source are possessing bodies that physically exist on the Source. When Voidsent are "killed" on the Source, they don't really die either. Instead they get severed from the body they are possessing and get punted back to the Void. This leads me to think that that "aether" the Voidsent have isn't physcial aether (which is what most elemental aether is) but the kind of aether that makes up souls/ideas/memories. That is, aether that is more associated with "mental" concepts rather then "physical" concepts.

It's that "physcial" aether that is completely missing in the Void and it is also that aether that is what the Empty is comprised of.

I'd be very much interested in where you get that information from.. I'm a lore addict, follow my anonymoose religiously, .. and I never came across that explanation ever

It explains why we have faced and killed the same voidsent multiple times across multiple storylines (Ferdinand and Diabolos as main examples). As well as explain why Ascians are considered alive when they need to take possession of a body in order to act on the source or any of the shards.

There is a lot of information about Voidsent and how Voidsent are summoned and let into the world in the Mach raids. The bit of the Crystal Tower raids revolving around what Xande was trying to use the Crystal Tower and Dalamud for is also very relevant (create a gate big enough for the Cloud of Darkness to come through). Lore Book 1 also has a lot of collated info from what Voident are to the kinds of "physical bodies" different types of Voidsent prefer possessing. IE: Aramahn like possessing eyes, Gargoyals like possessing stone statues, Dulahan like possessing suits of armor, high-level voidsent like possessing people etc. Other good places to look would be the Thumaturge and Black Mage quests, and just about any quest that has to do with Voidsent in general. Hauke Manor dungeons also comes to mind.

Things like memories really being aether of some kind was introduced in the Return to Ivalice Raids. We also see Auracite being used as both a holding place for aether and as a corrupter of bodies in there. And we've known souls are made out of aether ever since primals were shown to absorb bodyless souls (both of which had the Echo!).

Here's my two cents. In 6.0 we save zodiark from Zenos and in 7.0 we save all the worlds and the ascians as well.

I have often wonder if it is even possible for them to succeed with the 13th being a void. I want to mention 1.) The creations of amourot look like voidsent granted they weren't know as void sent at the time. Meaning ergo the ascians got sloppy and created a shard with their own nightmares.

    2) yes a lot of the information we have on voidsent comes from blackmage ,thurmaturge quests and esp mhachi raids(which are superior to ivalice raids... was it so hard yoshida to put nu mou into ivalice? Humes, a moogle, bangga, viera alone make not ivalice)

I am interested in this oracle of darkness. She uses voidsent abilities and she doesn't appear to one of the lesser voidsent either.

I know the void sent look for aether sources, though odd that sin eaters also look for sources of aether.

I do not believe that the voidsent would only be after sources of aether on the source alone. They have been awfully quiet since hsw cept for the odd quest here and there.

In the end i do not see how they can succeed at least right not though that snake in the grass eidibus( yes you were right moose) seems focused on taking out all the scions and the wol at the moment.
