    What's your favorite FFXIV moment?

I enjoyed reading the "most powerful FF moment" thread a lot
It made me curious though which moment is your favorite one in FFXIV?

While there wasn't anything as epic as some of the moments in other FF games yet, there already are very touching or epic stories.

My favorite moment was beating the little Ifrit.
I was just a Rank 30 conjurer, my LS mates weren't stronger either, but we somehow managed to beat Ifrit, and we felt awesome!
And while we were still rejoicing in the front row, 2 of us already felt danger approaching..

You should know what happened afterwards
Something I really enjoy about FF games is how helpless they make me feel in front of my opponent, and this scene provides exactly this feeling:
You just managed to beat up something like..a mini god, and suddenly your REAL opponent rushes in to demonstrate his power, like "I'm just a tiny part of the empire you are up against, and look what I can do.."

So what are your favorite FFXIV moments?

Gameplay-wise, I have the most fun when, in a hard fight, my party is forced to deviate from the standard strategy due to mistakes and/or bad luck. It almost doesn't matter if we recover or not. Examples include the time we almost wiped to Ifrit twice in one fight and recovered back to full both times. Crazy kiting, plume-dodging, clutch Cures, lots of fun! There's also last night where people started to wipe at Coincounter in Aurum Vale just as he was nearly dead. One of our freshly-raised WARs managed to barely finish him off, and the rest of us had to Return.

Hm...apart from gameplay, the starting GC quests, the job quests so far, and the very existence of the vocal Moggle Mog song are high points in the game for me.

Also: Level 46 cutscene, easily and till the game is ultimately shut down in 20 years.

My favorite moment in FFXIV was day 1 (I had not played the beta) - my mind was full of all the excitement and ideas and promise this new adventure would bring - from limitless intricate open environments, dungeons and discoveries to Disciples of the Land/Hand that are on par with DoW/M classes in their storylines/quests and offerings. The promise of an intricate journey I would have, leveling up my character.

It was all downhill from there.

Recently its been a steady difficult climb back up but my expectations were pretty high and besides the graphical quality of the game which is just wonderful, not much else was met.

There are a few that def stand out for me. First, living in the current umbral era. If you have done most quests/story missions you have heard about whats coming to eorzea and to me its just thrilling to be part/experience it. Its also very cool that each patch gets us an inch closer to the dawn of the next era...

Another thing for sure: the random awesomness. A while ago a few gms would spawn and speak of great peril and impending doom of eorzea. One time, at camp horizon, an arcanist gm casted buffs on the entire camp area....buffs that arent even ingame....and summoned a few waves of mobs, right by the aetheryte. It was a blast and was thrilled i was able to partake in it and def stands out for me. Another is the crystals that pop in towns...i was lucky enough to partake in one and it was also very fun, specially since they are kinda rare.
