Directx Fatal Error has occurried (11000002)

Hi,

Since days ago i've being having the issue of the game crashing with the directx error, im suck in a cinematic in my main character thanks to this error.
I can play hours without problem till the game crashes or it crashes after a few minutes, and the most annoying thing is the crash is provocking a full crash of my system and occasionally causing blue sreens.

I already tried to reinstall directX;
Clean install of GPU drivers;
Clean install of FFXIV;
Updating windowns 10;
Updating the gpu;
Tried to play in bordeless/windows/fullscreen mode;

But the error still persists, i have played the game in the same laptop for years and there was none issue. My HDD broke weeks ago and i bought a SSD and on the first weeks i had 0 issue, i've played without problems until recently.

I've read lots of forum posts and reddit posts and nothing had solved this issue

When you reinstalled the game, did you remove the locally-saved files (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV)? This usually isn't deleted when reinstalling the game. Be sure to make a backup of this just in case removing it doesn't resolve the issue.

You may also want to try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

The error message being presented is a generic crash message. Unfortunately, this doesn't give us much information about what is actually causing the error itself. Because of the many variables between PC builds, different manufacturers and different programs installed on each PC, the actual cause of this kind of error is difficult to determine. The troubleshooting suggested in this and other threads is based on the most likely scenarios and has been successful in the past. It's necessary to suggest these steps (even if it becomes a bit redundant) because they could clear up one of the potential causes of the error.

ive had this issue also ever since shb came out. it will only crash one time a night, after the initial crash it works and doesn't crash the rest of the night.

Been having this issue for a week now,
will crash randomly, could play all night or could crash multiple times between dungeon pulls.

Up until this point I played just fine, and continue to play other games without so much as an issue.

I have tried multiple different variants of gpu drivers all off clean installations.
Always play off a clean start-up with nothing running in the background.
Have seen no difference at all between discord open and discord never turned on.
Have reseated and thoroughly cleaned my case and gpu.
Have clean installed windows and ff14.
Have tried running on directx 9

Pretty much the only option left at this point is to RMA my graphics card, so I'm pretty sure this is on your end and I'm hoping we can get an actual fix or workaround soon.

I'm still getting dx11 crashes as well, but what I've noticed is that having a browser open in the background and having it utilize hardware acceleration or GPU usage triggers the errors.
For example, I have FFXIV running, and I tab out and open a news or social media website that autoplays a video or flash object, it's highly likely to trigger the crash for me.
So for now, I've disabled hardware acceleration on my browsers and tend to avoid having any of them open in the background.

The suggestion doesn't really fix anything, but at the very least, might lessen some headaches for other players. Joining a hunt train or trial and crashing almost everytime is just plain disheartening.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When you reinstalled the game, did you remove the locally-saved files (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV)? This usually isn't deleted when reinstalling the game. Be sure to make a backup of this just in case removing it doesn't resolve the issue.

You may also want to try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

And no i didnt removed the locally-saved files, i have to try it too.
