Why do tanks have so many skills?

We do not need the PvP system built into the standard PvE kit.

While I agree that we do not NEED the system used in PvP, you cannot deny that it would go a long way toward helping some people setup their hotbars, so long as it was optional.

I really enjoyed your PLD hotbar that you shared. 3 blank slots, and yet I noticed it was missing any and all generic stuff. No sprint, no limit break, no duty action, no mount, no consumables. Personally, of that list, I only keep limit break and sprint on my bars full time, but occasionally I'll drop in a regen potion (eureka / hoh / potd) or duty action if appropriate, and oh look we've reached the capacity of 3 hotbars. Now, if you add onto that the fact that you're likely to want your role actions (and similar job actions) in the same spot across all jobs, you're either left with a weird layout for your other tanks, or you're left with the same skills in different places when you swap jobs.

I know. I was like? WTF? as a Dark Knight I have 3 buttons I am pushing all the time. With everything else. I am pushing like once every 30 seconds or not pushing at all. Honestly tanks are so dumbed down to the point. I am finding them to becoming boring.

It makes me sad how simplistic DRK is now. We spam Soul Eater the majority of the time and every so often spam Blood Spiller/Quietus for 10 seconds. That’s it. Dark side is easy as hell to keep up as you’re basically hitting Edge or Flood every couple of seconds because we don’t really have anything else to do with our magic. Just really makes me miss HW DRK, we had so much more to manage with a tool kit that had a lot of flavor. Now we just are a discount WAR with PLDs rampart

What is on you peoples hotbar for real?????!!! Do you crazies still have the inventory/bag/teleport buttons on there? if so WHY???!! Breako doesn't really have that many buttons honestly... I'mma post screenies.

So many ppl are saying we dont need the pvp system, yet SE could give us the option of choosing between normal mode and pvp (for the 123 combo). If you don't like it you dont choose it, i prefer pve mode because it's easier to follow, more precise and fun on a keyboard but if had to go on controller i would go for pvp hotbars without looking back.

Pvp combos are bad, you cant double weave properly on them.
But as a option i have nothing agianst it.

The people saying they barely have 2 bars of skills kinda scare me, both my DRK and GNB have 3 bars of skills and I use them all fairly regularly.

This means those people are leaving out important parts of their toolkit and are out there shitting up the roulettes with their subpar play.

How exactly do you expect anyone to be able to reach 6 through = without using a second hand on the keyboard? I dare you to keybind without using W S A D as a keybind with modifiers, or 6 through = ... Many of us can't reach those buttons during one handed keyboard/one handed mouse play... If you end up binding WSAD (movement) to any modifiers, you stop moving while holding that modifier. Bad news during anything that needs you to constantly move but to also use a skill with that modifier.

I really think there needs to be an optional one-handed keyboard option for players where it combines the main combo skills of classes so I'm not stuck separating each and every skill. I'd like to be able to play this game since I'm paying for it. The least SE can do is give me a way to do it properly.

12-button MMO mouse. Best thing I ever bought for playing MMOs. Makes a world of difference. Yes, they cost a bit, but they are worth every penny if you're invested in these types of games. I'm on my third one.
